Today’s House passage of my Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act marks a historic win for America’s consumers, farmers, and energy independence.
For over a decade, I have championed nationwide, year-round E15 to end years of patchwork regulations and expand much-needed market access for Nebraska’s biofuels producers.
While I am grateful for the bipartisan support of my colleagues today, I know there is still more work to do. I urge the Senate to take up this bill and send it to President Trump’s desk so he can sign it into law and make nationwide, year-round E15 a reality once and for all.
Hear it from @epaleezeldin: No refinery has closed because consumers had the choice to purchase E15 year-round.
Q: During these past 8 years, are you aware of any refiners that have closed because consumers had a choice to purchase E15 year-round?
A: I am not aware of any refinery that closed because of that.
Hear it from @epaleezeldin: We’ve operated on year-round E15 for 8 years.
Q: Is it also accurate that we have had year-round E15 through a patchwork of regulations since 2019-meaning this will be the 8th year we have had E15 year-round?
A: That is accurate, since 2019, yes.
Hear it from @epaleezeldin: E15 is not a mandate.
Q: Is my bill or the actions you have taken at EPA in any way a mandate for a gas station to sell or an American consumer to buy E15?
A: No, Senator.
Today, in front of the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., growers and elected officials shared their commitment to year-round E15. E15 saves consumers money, promotes American energy independence, and is better for the environment. Consumers need E15 now. @RepFischbach@RepShontelBrown@RepAdrianSmith@RepNikkiB
.@BasedMikeLee, I agree — Americans should be able to CHOOSE whether they want to save money at the pump by fueling up with E15 year-round.
We both know my Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act is NOT a government mandate. Let's stick to the facts.
The national average discount for E15 is now 9% under E10. Approved for 2001 & newer vehicles and all Flex Fuel Vehicles (FFVs). The most tested fuel in history is safe and proven. It requries this label when available. Lower your cost per mile - try it today. #ethanol
Just spoke with @TeamPillen — As wildfires continue burning across Nebraska, @USDA and @forestservice crews, engines, and aviation resources are working alongside state and local partners to protect communities and contain these fast-moving fires. 🚒✈️💪🏼
One top request from Governor Pillen was for our USDA team to work with ranchers impacted by these fires to provide flexibility, including moving permittees to other available allotments for grazing. I am on the phone now and we will make this happen. I have also been in touch with @SecretaryBurgum and @Interior as we work closely together to do everything possible for those affected.
Grateful for our first responders working around the clock to protect lives, land, livestock, and property. USDA will continue coordinating with federal, state, and local officials as these fires remain dangerous and active. Please keep these communities in your prayers. 🙏
More updates soon.
We hope you’ll join us in praying for the first responders, volunteer firefighters, communities, and producers who are working tirelessly to fight the devastating wildfires impacting Nebraska. Team NC is working to coordinate and gather resources for producers. If you have any information regarding donation sites, community relief efforts, and other ways to help, please email [email protected]. The NC Disaster Relief Fund will begin accepting donations on Monday.
If you are a livestock producer who has suffered excessive livestock death losses and grazing or feed losses due to recent wildfires, you may be eligible for USDA-FSA disaster assistance programs. That said, documentation and record keeping is crucial during this time.
You should record all pertinent information regarding livestock losses due to the eligible adverse weather or loss condition, including:
- Documentation of the number, kind, type, and weight range of livestock that have died, supplemented if possible by photographs or video records of ownership and losses;
- Rendering truck receipts by kind, type and weight - important to document prior to disposal;
- Beginning inventory supported by birth recordings or purchase receipts;
- Documentation from Animal Plant Health Inspection Service, Department of Natural Resources, or other sources to substantiate eligible death losses due to an eligible loss condition;
- Documentation that livestock were removed from grazing pastures due to an eligible adverse weather or loss condition;
- Costs of transporting livestock feed to eligible livestock, such as receipts for equipment rental fees for hay lifts;
- Feed purchase receipts if feed supplies or grazing pastures are destroyed;
- Number of gallons of water transported to livestock due to water shortages.
For more information on these programs and documentation requirements, contact your County USDA Service Center or visit https://t.co/WKkvNQrVgJ.
Let me be clear: the E15 Rural Domestic Energy Council is not a substitute for action, and I refuse to let it be utilized as a delaying tactic.
It is a results-driven commitment.
Farmers need certainty, opportunity, and market development.

May has been proclaimed as Renewable Fuels Month in Nebraska by @TeamPillen!
Renewable fuels are important to Nebraska's corn farmers, residents and the environment. Fueling up with biofuels like ethanol and biodiesel saves you money and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions!
Renewable Fuels Nebraska is grateful for the E15 waiver allowing year-round sales. This critical policy supports farmers, strengthens energy security, and provides more choices for consumers. #E15
