The Israeli government seems determined to continue its war in Gaza, His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad says, warning of a wider escalation.

Read his full statement below from his weekly Friday Sermon:

"Just as I have continued urging prayers for the Palestinians, again, you should keep them in your supplications. Moreover, keep advocating for their plight in your own circles and localities, and keep raising this issue - especially with politicians, as I have said before.

It does not seem likely that the Israeli government will cease its injustices in the near future. Instead, it has given its forces the message that 2024 will also be the year of war. May Allah the Almighty have mercy on the Palestinians.

It is also being said now that there is a risk of regional escalation from the war. And then it could escalate further into a world war. They (Israeli forces) have also started bombing the areas around Beirut. The situation continues to get worse. Whilst the US government is apparently telling them (Israel) to limit the war, it seems like empty words and that they are reluctantly saying this.

The actual plan seems to be to displace the Palestinians from Gaza and occupy the land.

May Allah have mercy on the Palestinians and on the Muslims, and grant them wisdom and sense. And may they heed the words of the reformer of the age [The Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community]."

I spoke on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. as part of “Voices For Peace,” a new Ahmadiyya Muslim Community U.S.A. initiative on de-escalating the Hamas-Israel War and finding a lasting peace between Palestinians and Israelis. I focused on non-violence, rationality, and peace-building.
