Renaming everything into “of America” is entertaining, but ultimately diminishing to us. All these gulfs, lakes and straits are named according to where they are in relation to us.

We can’t have America of America all over the United States, so we have the Gulf of Mexico—looking from the U.S., it’s near Mexico. Ontario is a province on our border, so it’s Lake Ontario. We are the subject naming the objects.

Once Trump is gone, all these bodies of water will be returned to their previous designations. The memes are good, though.
