Bush et al. @lakemud1@FloridaTech use #pollen and charcoal in lake sediment to show that #fire was very rare near Lake Junín, Peru over the past 670,000 years until the last 12,000 years ago, and the #ecology has changed due to human intervention. #paleo https://t.co/XMBPlhb8Qu
Our new paper on the #climate and #vegetation of the last 7 interglacials in the Peruvian Andes just came out https://t.co/p4tMTsrxxS. We find that the #Holocene followed a similar trajectory to other interglacials until about 4000 years ago…an early start to the #Anthropocene!
Exciting new study @fire@paleo@ecology@andes uses charcoal chemistry to infer paleo fire temperature.

Had an opportunity to give a talk at @ESA_org 2023 and represent Neotropical Paleoecology lab at @FloridaTech with a talk on Paleoecology and Paleoclimate in NW Amazon, and how that informs us on possible climate tipping points. @MajoiNascimento @crystalmcmic @Lakemud1
Great talk by Yadvinder Malhi on the importance of empirical forest data on formulating ecological understanding at the Ecological Society of America meeting.
So excited to see #RangeMapper officially out! I've been using it a ton in talks already - it's a great animated map visualization of deglacial species range shifts in North America, Europe, Indo-Pacific. And, code is extensible to new regions & taxa! Thx to @RobertERoth
New webpages highlight #FloridaTech campus as wildlife haven. https://t.co/X31RmSGBXZ. Pics of wildlife and habitats. Mini-stories feature #rangechages#climatechange#urbanconservation. Updates coming as content is added. Larval hostplants and fish next!
