Exceptional performers: 2 discrete populations over time
"Most early top performers do not become top performers at peak age and, perhaps more notably, most top performers at peak age were not early top performers."

Have a muscle injury - warm it up, don't cool it down for better recovery! This study will cause trouble with the physios and ice bath proponents!: https://t.co/R5pvfTyrHs
A key determinant of your VO2 max may be in your neck. Lactate production is key in exercise metabolism here being sensed in the carotid bodies to drive ventilatory response: The carotid body mediates peak oxygen uptake during maximal physical exertion... https://t.co/5ngS6BhMSK
Really excited to see our study on long term passive heat acclimation now published in @JPhysiol !
Five weeks of hot-water immersion increased Hb mass, left-ventricular end-diastolic volume and ultimately, V̇O₂max!

Seems almost too good to be true! Chocolate (well cocoa flavanols) can reverse age effects on the left atria and ventricle. A potentially popular finding! https://t.co/GFKyuaDQAY
Caffeinated Coffee Consumption or Abstinence to Reduce Atrial Fibrillation
The DECAF Randomized Clinical Trial
In this clinical trial of coffee drinkers after successful cardioversion, allocation to consumption of caffeinated coffee averaging 1 cup a day was associated with less recurrence of AF or atrial flutter compared with abstinence from coffee and caffeinated products.
