Great to see more investors this year at #ARDD2025, some of who are new to longevity but understand the massive opportunity this space represents for mission-driven capital deployment. Getting to talk to them about ALIS has been a privilege!
A rainy day 3 at #ARDD2025 but the highest attendee engagement I've seen at the venue so far. Today is filled with important conversations about the usability of aging clocks in practice.
Is there ever a situation where a medical provider should recommend a test without any information about precision or accuracy? That is not actionable? That they probably don't even understand how it works?
If your doctor is recommending a biological (epigenetic) age test...
On Day 1 of the Longevity Summit Dublin, @M_S_Ringel talked about the need for a breakthrough in the field and the first clinical trial using an epigenetic therapy that Life Biosciences will be running. It's gearing up to be another great year of @LongevityDublin!
Today started with @thelouhawthorne sharing updates on his NaNot approach, Patrizia D'Alessio talking about why D-Limonene is good for inflammaging and @furmanbios explaining how organoids in a microgravitic environment can help us better understand (and intervene in) aging.
Last night, things kicked off with a stimulating women's health pre-event. We capped off the evening with a valuable panel discussion with @suzaansauerman, @KennedyMSchaal and @jenngarrison who are all making women's health a priority where it long hasn't been.
Martin O'Dea kicked off the first day at Longevity Summit Dublin in the beautiful setting of Trinity College Dublin. I'm here until Friday, so come chat to me about the category-defining solution in precision longevity medicine we are building at ALIS.
Happy to see @jangruber42 talk about his work on the groundbreaking LinAge clock at the #FoundersForum in Singapore. I will share the associated publications in the comments for those interested to learn more.
"Clinical clocks give actionable insights for longevity and outperform methylation clocks."
@jangruber467 on the Founders Forum stage.
Missed it? Join us at the Global Conference on Gerophysics next week!

WHY DOES THE EPIGENETIC CLOCK TICK?
While money has been poured into developing therapies to reverse the epigenetic clock (@altos_labs 🤑), why the epigenome changes with age at all is unclear.
In @NatureAging today, we suggest a potential driver: somatic mutations.
The success of AI applied to drug discovery is being decided by a number of clinical trials. So far, the results are lackluster. Why? For AI to have a transformational effect in drug discovery, training data must come from living mammals. (🧵1/9)
Online now! A new blood aging clock developed in mice using DNN. Analysis of data from the NIH Study of Longitudinal Aging in Mice and the Jackson Lab Study of Aging shows platelets are key predictors @NIHAging https://t.co/tFkhPELqbD https://t.co/Na0EhifHsT
I recently came across this article describing the use embryonic stem cell-derived small extracellular vesicles to improve the senescent phenotype in chondrocytes found in OA without inducing apoptosis. Thoughts?

Very cool multi-omic analysis of development and aging across >45 mouse and human cell types.
They find a transcription factor binding site signature common to aging and development and propose that activator protein 1 (AP-1) drives maturation and is later hijacked in aging.
