Agree on second point, though: the US for too long did not take state-sponsored industry-capture as of national import.
It’s hard to say when the adjusted roic these software companies used to make these companies look reasonable is depreciating more rapidly than previously, and it’s not clear if their customer base is sufficiently sticky in future contract cycles without at least margin impairment. @pmarca I often make blanket categorical statements that appear reasonable based on my own limited experience and because I value my competency (and see it often reciprocally valued) I believe I am justified in doing so
Not really, equities are generally valued based on future cash flows. Look at where the futures predict oil prices are in the coming months.
A better way to frame that is that oil prices are going to stay higher than the market anticipated and equity prices will soon reflect that.
