@lukeed05@kevinrwhitley@JoviDeC The *Craft app clones really drove this home for me.
30 minutes from being amazed that I could agentically drive these marquee products on remote VMs, to realizing that I would never use these products again.
Legendary capabilities, wrong shape. Dead code walking.
@strimblez OAI limits are inscrutable. Ran out on $200 plan, ok, switched to $500, but even Sol is sucking it down by the minute, gone in 24 hours. Now it's reset 6 days early for no reason. Cool but can't plan with it.
Opus 5.5 light on the gas, Sonnet a ghost.
@LaireLaFlare@RealAstropulse You can definitely use CC CX etc under the hood as well, but embed them into the context of your work and force them to output objects that slot into your core tools.
@RealAstropulse Yes. Ask for it to be docked alongside your work object, or embedded in it. Try small models, or even decision models with backoff to bigger guns.
Use free interfaces you like, like Paseo and Chatto, or ask for patterns from wherever. Spend the time to sharpen the axe!
@adamwathan And ask the agent to make FigCraft the literal source of truth for the design system with instant edit propagation, with two-way sync. Open that on another screen. Then you have fast, surgical agent edits, and fine-grained human controls.
@adamwathan "Write a zoomable, scrollable single page app with every component and every route view with mock data. Make every element clickable to open an agent chat to live edit."
Use fast-mode medium-level agent at medium effort. Have Jev race it for minor tweaks.
It's sweet and outrageous how products now just pour out into the common pot. I look and see your tool and scream "That, but for my hand!", and it's done.
Remember caring about languages and frameworks? It feels as silly as saying "Devastating poem, but why write in Hungarian?"
@_catwu some gripes about sections.
- adding a section from group/sort of existing section is wrong
- dragging doesn't work
- section names are fainter and smaller than chat names?
- chats should be indented wrt sections
- need to fold threaded chats
huge, huge fan. thank you.
it's no longer possible to block sophisticated automated access without unreasonably degrading the experience of human users.
if scraping is a resource issue for you, provide an api. authenticate and rate limit if you want.
notice..
> Delta is blocking AI agents from booking flights
> JPMorgan Chase and Charles Schwab block agents from accessing accounts
> Yelp requires paid data licensing for agents
> Amazon has blocked Grok bot and other shopping agents.
the internet is starting to block AI agents that were supposed to do everything for us
@hamiltonulmer@calebfahlgren anthropic just shipped one: ghost text in the chat box. it's great. you feel a little spark every time you press tab / right-arrow and accept it.
@hamiltonulmer@calebfahlgren when was the last time we had a frontier *base* model, aka *completion* model? most AI engineers today have probably never even used one 😂
the magic of original copilot was ghost text at your cursor -- often helpful, easy to ignore if not. we need more experiences like that.
@Asg3gd i know, it's just the delta between cowboy mode and the pearl-clutching is amusing.
they should just detect keys in chat and store and elide before sending to server.
