Uganda is taking a significant step in bringing wildlife conservation closer to communities through the establishment of Regional Wildlife Conservation Education Centres across the country. The centres will be developed in Mbale, Gulu, Mbarara, and Kyenjojo, with implementation being carried out in phases by Uganda Wildlife Authority.
The first site, located in Mbale in Eastern Uganda, is scheduled for launch this Friday 12th June, marking the beginning of this important initiative.
According to @ugwildlife, the locations were carefully identified based on factors such as accessibility, population reach, and the presence of distinctive yet vulnerable wildlife species. The centres are expected to serve both rural and urban communities by enhancing conservation awareness, education, and engagement.
