A significant moment last week. @EnriqueSteiger speaking after was the signing of an MoU between Swisscross and the KRG Ministry of Health, and @BarzaniCF to extend our complex care proposition in Erbil and expanding our surgical and training mission in Kurdistan. @UAEAid
In this next chapter in Erbil, Swisscross is looking forward to working closely with the KRG Ministry of Health @BarzaniCF and the Office of Mullah Mustafa Barzani in strengthening surgical outcomes, further collaborating with local healthcare & delivering complex surgical care.
Under the supervision of Mullah Mustafa Barzani, an agreement was signed between the Barzani Charity Foundation, the Ministry of Health, the Swiss Cross Organization and the office of Mullah Mustafa Barzani, to see and identify 1,000 cases of disease annually, in coordination with all four parties.
From the start of our journey in #Erbil we have made it our mission to provide surgical care to the most vulnerable communities.
We are committed to ensuring our continued care to patients in #Sinjar in need of #reconstructivesurgery and working with @nadiainitiative.

Thank you @UAEAid for your unwavering commitment to refugees.
Heart breaking to see little children suffering from injuries for years with no resources to get treated. This is why I love working with @SWISSCROSS . First official Swisscross visit to Mosul which is still suffering from post ISIS devastation
On this #EducationDay we thank the Swisscross team’s unwavering commitment to share knowledge and train the next generation of medical professionals 💪🏼 🏥

Just over two months ago @EnriqueSteiger operated on 7 year old Ahmed who was badly burned in a gas explosion. He lost much of the function in his hands. Today he is able to move his fingers and his scars are healing nicely.

Swisscross CEO @IanFurst was in the OR the day after he arrived in #Erbil with our young field officer @Lass_Azad and scrub nurse Sayran operating on a patient who’s jaw was shattered after being caught up in a bomb attack.
World Humanitarian Day: #ItTakesAVillage@Lass_Azad is one of our brilliant Swisscross field officers and a junior doctor in Erbil at the Centre of Excellence for Complex Care.
