Last week we completed the first free flap surgery on a 10 year old boy- tissue flap, including blood vessels and muscle tissue was removed from his torso to help rebuild his leg
after he lost part of it in a missile attack.

A well deserved, final lunch at the end of missions 4&5 for our @SWISSCROSS teams in Erbil, Iraq. 36 patients operated on in 10 days including our first free flap. Thanks to everyone involved!
The Orthopaedic team led by @DeiaryKader & including local specialists Drs Berzenji, Shwan, Ziyad & Yad were in theatre for almost 9 hours back to back, completing 8 procedures yesterday 🙌🏽
