@LBC Starmer was known in his previous role as being a stickler for the rules.

The offence may seem trivial, but it’s the non-declaration that’s been acted upon.

If he upholds the rules in his own party, then it can be questioned in other parties (and possibly even acted upon)

By sticking to strict guidelines, in this case the failure to declare the offence (not the actual offence itself) he can then hold other parties to the same standards.

I think this is the start of a wider plan, no idea if it will work though.

@micheal_olainn @deirdreheenan Theyre old examples, and I doubt it’s even close to a comfortable existence, but both people came from families that were also living off benefits, it was what they’d learnt as a way of life. It does happen.

But the idea that it’s ALL benefit claimants is pure nonsense.
