It took nearly 18 months, but here it is! A step by step guide to designing REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and Async APIs. Iβm so thankful to @VaughnVernon for the opportunity to pull together over a decade of API coaching into a single resource
If it's anything like my subscription, you don't need it, decide to cancel it, and yet they still seem to find another license somewhere that Grammarly charges you for the next month. It might be cheaper for Austin to just acquire them instead
@Luke4OSS Well said. I've been pushing for this for the last decade for API programs.
Those that did it are seeing the benefits with AI.
Those that refused are still focused on system integration and AI becomes another integration rather than delivering value through capabilities
@AlaskanKate I used to feel that often. This is a snippet from AW Tozer's Attributes of God Volume 1. I hope it brings you into His grace even further. Check out the book of you want to be blown away by who He really is, without our human constraints and bias
@Marky_X_@PurensPhD Absolutely. The Crescent Hawk's Inception was a fun game. Because the computer rolled the dice for you and the story kept my attention
Agreed about ongoing service. If you generate income monthly, you only need to be good enough to avoid a higher than average churn. If you have to sell a customer on a new version once or twice a year, you innovate and deliver outstanding products to make the new release worth it.
Add to that the lure of engineering salaries and you get subpar products more often than not
While I hold that SaaS isn't dead, if those prices continue to go up so will SaaS prices.
And SaaS usually works best if the vendor charges more than $29/month even prior to hardware price spikes. Unless the product is very simple and the anchor price for an alternative solution demands a low price. In that case, you are competing on price rather than value
@owenthcarey Attributes of God volumes 1 and 2 - A W. Tozer. It will change your walk, your worship, and grow your relationship by focusing on who He is rather than what you and the world claim He is and isn't
