It’s hard to explain but this time last year, my attitude after work was very much “I have to get straight home and wash myself and have a stress cry” and now it’s more “yeah I can go meet friends after work” and it feels very happy.
The amount of times in my life when I’ve meant to DM or text someone something and then thought “they’re gonna see the 3:46 am timestamp and think it’s weird… I should wait” and then forgotten all together….
A terrible thing is that every woman I know has this story. Mine is the Dean of Students asking me to lift my arms over my head and then calling me out for my bare midriff. When I said “I just wouldn’t raise my hand that high” he sighed and told me I was still out of dress code.
My thoughts and prayers to every other retail and service employee who has to explain to customers that they still have to follow your corporate guidelines even though the state is just waving their hand and saying “go for it. Best of luck.”
Effective Wednesday, NYS will adopt the CDC's new mask & social distancing guidance for vaccinated people.
Unvaccinated people should continue to wear a mask.
Masks will still be required on public transit, in schools & some communal settings. Private venues may require masks.
I’m not saying my Succession filming (and specifically cousin Greg!) sighting this morning is connected with my perfect sales day today, but I’m also not saying it’s not not connected.
@carly_d123 Yes! I’ve rarely ever sold in appointments with a crowd. It’s usually “I need to think” and I’m like “yeah because you just had five people telling you THEIR opinions and now you’re confused!”
Within hours of this being announced yesterday, we already had brides calling and asking if this meant they could bring extra guests beyond our capacity limit to their appointments. I’m exhausted already by the amount of no’s I’m going to have to tell people.
NEW: @NYGovCuomo announces the elimination of state mandated capacity restrictions in New York City on Wednesday, May 19th. That means restaurants, bars, retail, salons and live performances including Broadway can all reopen.
@JamieStelter@NY1 I’m already exhausted by it. I work in bridal and what people don’t get is that our capacity limits are also space specific and about protecting the experience. I just know I’m going to have so many people bringing extra guests because “oh the governor lifted capacity limits.”
