@clairevo We bounced from and back to private for our elementary kids. High scoring local public schools because kids did test prep worksheets all day (even more if you didn’t need extra support). My kids are creative weirdos, and one would have struggled in MS. Both thrive in private.
@sonjaphoto@sciencegirl We were a Kings Quest family. I tell my kids how we had a pad of graph paper next to the computer, and my dad, brother and I would map where we went. I’ll still occasionally scroll through a play through on YouTube.
@maiab Even signs of older kids means even if no peers right now, it's a conducive neighborhood. Bikes dropped in front of houses is a good one, 'Drive Slow, Kids Playing' signs. Halloween decorations up. It has bought me HOURS AND HOURS of kid playtime. Can not understate the value.
@maiab Neighborhood design is a big one. Kids unlikely to walk/bike down busy street. Culdesac where you can see circle from your windows is top choice. We live in dead-end neighborhood with limited traffic. Drive around potential 'hoods at 4pm (when not raining) and look for signs.
@maiab Maia, I talked about exactly these feels as a guest on this podcast: https://t.co/XvNTkaxLA8. I hope next time you’ll give the other person the gift of letting them help you. She clearly wanted to! It’s so hard to say yes, and such a good practice to be in.
@AshleyGWinter I was put on it at 15 (1998) for painful periods. At 24, they finally sent me for a bone density scan and promptly pulled me off. So many crazy side effects, and terrible option for a young woman.
@LeslieFeinzaig As someone who always has a presentation deck with animations, I never sent an animated deck to investors. Someone must have taught me better! 😉
@Rick_Pescatore 11pm at ER with sudden onset of 2 herniated cervical disks as an otherwise healthy early 30s woman. Worst pain of my life (incl childbirth). Doctor came to waiting room, discharged me with Xanax and told me to go home and sleep. When I returned, it was an emergency page to neuro.
@johnrushx@maplewaveWILL@seobotai Awesome. Testing the tool now, but I have 500+ out of date articles that I would love to put through the machine and have it bring them up to date. Looking forward to seeing the results!
@VicVijayakumar@maiab@purplepillz_@smalltown_wife I thank everyone who supports us at home for allowing me to be a better parent. More present, more relaxed. We spent 7 months abroad where lots of help at home is normal and I was basically living my best mom life.
@KenGoodwinITV@robprogressive Your own money definitely isn’t yours - you should read about the horrors of civil forfeiture experienced by @Amy_K_Nelson at the hands of the FBI and Amazon. https://t.co/RG6YQucAfz
@kirbywinfield I don’t think I’ve been fully out of pocket for more than 24 hours in 9 years. I check my email, and at least one basic metric that shows my business is functioning as expected, every single day. Without fail. Even after I stopped being CEO.
@devahaz@AmandaMGoetz My 4th and 1st graders are at a top-scoring Washington state public school, and both just missed 5 days for family vacation. Teachers gave full blessing with no assigned work. My 4th has 1 small packet of homework/week and my 1st has none. It doesn’t have to be that way!
