@BootsHelp hello. I just tried to place an order online. The webpage said there had been a problem processing my payment and the order hadn’t been placed. However the money has left my account. How can this be resolved please. Either I’d like the items or a refund! Thank you!
I have to be honest and say the past 2 years spent campaigning to stop these ratio changes and for the government to announce in January they had cancelled the plans and now for them to be just announced as if it was something brilliant the government have come up with to cure the cost of living crisis when actually it puts children at significant risk with less eyes per child during vital time such as feeding, playing and throughout their development.
The government sadly or run a mile of any accountability when something goes wrong in the future involving safeguarding and a child in the early years sector. I hope and Pray that not a single setting besides to actually lower their ratios going forward because the accountability lays fully at your own doors.
I am so sorry to everyone that our campaign has just been totally ignored by the government.
They have failed to release any of the consultation documentation from last year ear because I'm pretty sure it only shows that the sector does not want these changes and will not take up these changes put the government have just gone ahead with it anyway.
Sorry 💙
You can't magic up funded places from a sector that is broken from years of underfunding just by announcing them. There's no spare capacity or staff. 🤷♀️
Hunt saying on the radio that we're going to need "thousands more nurseries" for his policy. We have lost over 5,000 early years settings in the last year and they have done nothing about that.
"This is the biggest change to childcare in my lifetime." No, it isn't. That was Sure Start, the 1998 Labour initiative, which, together with the Every Child Matters programme, was devised to address childhood poverty, and which his govt demolished at the stroke of a pen in 2010.
Worth remembering that 'extending' free childcare to under threes means fuck all if the places aren't there.
It's like me offering to pay for your ticket, when I know the flight is already fully booked, then patting myself on the back for being generous.
Please, I beg of everyone ...
It's not 'free', it's funded off the work of (mostly) women on minimum wage or less.
It's not 'childcare', it's early years education and care.
🙏
The decision to relax ratios is utterly appalling. Yes, parents want affordable care and education, but they also want to ensure that their children are in safe environments receiving quality care and education - something this policy completely flies in the face of.
ATTENTION ALL PARENTS
These headlines are all FALSE.
There is no such thing as FREE childcare.
This is being sold as financial saving but the reality is it’s going to be at a human cost.

Last night I finished this perfect novel. I can’t find the words to explain how much I adored it! Both uplifting and heartwarming, it also explored some really deep and difficult issues but with such heart and sensitivity. I can’t recommend it enough!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In the last couple of weeks I've learned from the police / media if I want to avoid going missing or being murdered I need to:
Not be too ambitious or high-achieving.
Not earn more than my partner (too late)
Not go to a park.
Not to drink alcohol.
Not to go through menopause.
Planning on spending the last few hours of 2022 in bed, with my kindle, praying that the flu that has stuck around for the whole of the festive season will soon be gone 🤞🏻
Happy New Year to you all! May 2023 be everything you hope, need and dream it to be 💚
