Next week, MPs will have the chance to vote for the Rare Cancers Bill, a potential new law that will incentivise research and investment into the treatment of rare cancers. To guarantee its passage, it needs 100 MPs to support it - we need your help -> https://t.co/xME1L7K0Lp
So proud of our small but mighty policy team for pulling together such an impactful report. Prizes are always the icing on the cake, but this one in particular means a lot, given Aisling's dedication to the medical research charity sector.
We're absolutely delighted to win this award in recognition of our advocacy work on behalf of the blood cancer community - thanks to all those who contributed to the UK Blood Cancer Action Plan, and to the AMRC for their support 🏆
Congratulations to the Aisling Burnand Award 2024 winner @bloodcancer_uk!
We received many excellent examples of impactful advocacy, but the UK Blood Cancer Action Plan stood out for its particularly strong evidence base, clear presentation & wide reach. https://t.co/NYlCkYr6wA

Now is the time to address this and to create a brighter future for people with blood cancer, as outlined in our UK Blood Cancer Action Plan.
Thank you to @CliveJonesMP for raising this debate and @mpmwilko for sharing your experience of being affected by blood cancer.
Exciting news – yesterday @SKinnock outlined the UK government's commitment to a National Cancer Plan.
Blood cancer is the 5th most common cancer but as @CliveJonesMP said during the debate, historically there's been a lack of strategic direction in blood cancer policy.
A fantastic way to end the week - Minister confirming in response to @CliveJonesMP Westminster Hall debate thar there will be a cancer strategy which will follow the 10 year health plan
The cancer community spoke with #onecancervoice & I’m delighted that @wesstreeting listened

This week we took the Blood Cancer Action Plan to Stormont to discuss how we improve survival in Northern Ireland.
Thank you to all those who joined us, particularly our panellists, @LAL_NI, and the many MLAs who showed their support including the Minister of Health.
Today we marked the launch of our Blood Cancer Action Plan with an event in Stormont. Great to Chair the Panel discussion to understand the issues facing blood cancer patients in NI. Thank you to the whole panel, and everyone who joined us including Health Minister Mike Nesbitt.
Great to be at Stormont today to hear the @bloodcancer_uk and @LAL_NI panel on how we can better address #BloodCancer here in NI. We fully endorse their call for investments in the workforce, diagnostics, clinical trials, and facilities. #CancerCantWait
