[Human Rights Foundation (HRF) @HRF]

HRF is concerned about the health of Ugandan opposition leader Kizza Besigye since his July 30 hospitalization after his collapse in court during his treason trial. HRF joins international appeals for Besigye's release and for his rights to a fair trial to be respected. HRF condemns dictator Yoweri Museveni's regime's dragging of Besigye before kangaroo courts for more than 20 months while harassing, obstructing, and intimidating his team of lawyers.

.@SeqeraLabs runs protein structure prediction for drug discovery and personalized medicine. Using Nebius AI Cloud and @nvidia NIM gave them a 4x speedup over launching containers natively. Hear Evan Floden, CEO and co-founder, on what that means for drug discovery: https://t.co/GcWr5VLTYY

[BOBI WINE @HEBobiwine]

As Dr. Kizza Besigye lies in an ICU room, fighting for his life, let's not forget that the stated intention of the Museveni regime is to murder him. Museveni’s criminal son, who derives pride in being a face of evil has been clear that "......Besigye will only leave prison in two ways. Either in his coffin after we hang him or shoot him or on his knees apologising to Mzee [Museveni]". That's why they have denied him bail, dismantled his legal team, and hounded him left, right and center.

The world must not standby. What is happening in Uganda is catastrophic. Let's use every avenue to speak out, protest and agitate. One blood-thirsty family must not be allowed to torture, maim, murder and hold a nation at ransom without consequence!

The training data market has exploded for LLMs and bio foundation models are next.

But biological data is extremely complex and requires a data generation playbook that prioritizes quality over immediate scale.

@jrkelly @Ginkgo But would we good to have an automated lab we can use in the field. For farmers.

[Joe Reeve - 🇬🇧/acc @isnit0]

My brother-in-law runs his own data center/GPU farm at home.

Currently makes him ~$3k/month profit. 30% solar powered. Aiming to get to 60% by end of this summer which will increase profits significantly (mostly down to adding batteries, not panels), then will buy more GPUs.

He sells the compute via some 3rd party service that takes a cut. Apparently a lot of ML/rendering workloads.

You can just do stuff!

Ugandan authorities have intensified attacks on the country’s main opposition party since Jan 15 presidential elections, with mass arrests of National Unity Platform supporters and the forcible disappearance of two senior leaders, who remain missing. https://t.co/f2uxZM4DI1

[Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman @SenateForeign]

Commander @mkainerugaba has crossed a red line and now the U.S. must reevaluate its security partnership, which includes sanctions, and military cooperation with Uganda. The president's son, and likely successor, cannot just delete tweets and issue hollow apologies. The U.S. will not tolerate this level of instability and recklessness when American personnel, U.S. interests, and innocent lives in the region are at stake.

[Dr. Tom Frieden @DrTomFrieden]

As of today, the United States has officially left the World Health Organization. We’ll look back on this as a grave error. Health threats do not respect borders, and weakening global cooperation makes Americans less safe.
