We monitor aircraft continuously. Engines. Sensors. Maintenance histories. Tiny deviations. But the person with command authority over hundreds of lives is still assessed largely on a periodic basis.
That may be aviation’s next great blind spot. The recent Flydubai cockpit incident pushed me to think beyond the conventional debate around pilot mental health. Because the real question is larger. A pilot may be medically fit and yet become vulnerable to coercion, blackmail, financial pressure, radicalisation, manipulation or malicious intent. That is not simply a mental health issue. It is a question of Human Airworthiness.
The challenge is equally uncomfortable. How do we identify genuine safety risks without turning airlines into surveillance agencies and pilots into permanently monitored suspects?
In my latest article, I argue for a new framework that combines mental fitness, behavioural threat assessment, security intelligence, and due process. We have become brilliant at monitoring machines. Perhaps it is time to become equally sophisticated about the humans who command them. Where should aviation draw the line between privacy and safety?

The New Age Experts
AI can find the facts. The real question is: what do you do with them?
Journalists must move beyond reporting information to providing context and verification. Lawyers must move beyond knowing the law to exercising judgement and anticipating consequences. Leaders must stop competing with AI on answers and become better at asking questions, making decisions and accepting accountability.
The new expert isn’t the person who knows the most. It is the person who knows what matters, what to question and what to do next.

We are becoming exceptionally good at reacting. Perhaps dangerously bad at reflecting. In a world that celebrates instant replies, quick decisions and permanent availability, pausing can look like weakness.
I think it may be the opposite. Sometimes, the most intelligent response is silence. The strongest decision is delayed. And the most powerful move is simply… to pause.

@TataCapital@TataCompanies@TRAI@DoT_India@airtelindia@CyberdostI am formally placing Tata Capital on notice.The repeated calls documented in the attached screenshots have continued despite my express refusal to receive loan solicitations and despite my number being registered under DND.More seriously, the caller “Muskan” informed me that my conversation was being recorded.
I therefore call upon the appropriate authorities to examine:
1. Who authorised these calls and from whose database my number was obtained;2. Whether the callers were Tata Capital employees, outsourced agents, telemarketers or other persons acting on Tata Capital’s behalf;3. Whether any valid consent existed for these repeated commercial calls after my express refusal;4. On what legal and contractual basis my conversation was recorded;5. Whether I was given the requisite notice concerning such recording, its purpose, retention and use;6. Who has access to the recording and whether it has been stored, transmitted or shared with any third party; and7. What supervisory and compliance mechanisms Tata Capital has in place for the conduct of persons soliciting business on its behalf.
Tata Capital cannot distance itself from persons acting for it merely by describing them as agents or third party callers.
I request @TRAI@DoT_India and @Cyberdost to take this complaint on record and examine the phone numbers visible in the attached screenshots and the conduct complained of.
Tata Capital: I have said NO. Repeatedly. Respect it. Stop calling.#DND #UCC #ConsumerRights #UnsolicitedCalls #TRAIOne

This has now crossed the line from persistent solicitation to a serious consumer grievance.
Despite repeatedly telling Tata Capital that I DO NOT require any loan and do not wish to receive loan proposals, the calls have continued relentlessly.
Today, a caller identifying herself as “Muskan” went a step further. Instead of respecting my clear refusal, she questioned why I was refusing even to listen to the loan proposal and, during the conversation, informed me that my conversation was being recorded.
I have never consented to repeated solicitation after expressly refusing it, nor was I seeking any such communication.
The attached screenshots document the repeated calls and numbers involved.
I call upon Tata Capital to immediately investigate the callers, their authorisation, the source of my mobile number, the basis on which these calls were made, and the circumstances in which my conversation was recorded.
I also request @TRAI and @DoT_India to treat this as a formal complaint concerning persistent unsolicited commercial communication despite DND registration.
Please do not treat this as a customer service complaint. Treat it as a regulatory complaint.
@TataCapital@TataCompanies@TRAI@DoT_India@airtelindia
Tata is built on the principle of Leadership with Trust. Respecting a consumer's explicit decision not to receive repeated commercial solicitation should be a fairly uncomplicated way of demonstrating it.
I am asking for one thing: stop calling me. The screenshots attached to this thread document the repeated calls.
If the calls continue after this public notice, I will pursue the matter through the appropriate regulatory and grievance mechanisms.
@TataCapital@TataCompanies
How many times does a consumer have to say “I do not need a loan” before Tata Capital stops calling?
I have repeatedly declined your loan/financial product solicitations, yet the calls continue, including repeated calls from the same number.
This is no longer a sales call. It is unwanted commercial communication despite an express refusal.

@airtelindia@Airtel_Presence
I have also opted for DND services on my Airtel connection.
If commercial loan solicitations are still reaching my number, I would like Airtel to investigate whether the calls are being correctly identified and handled under the applicable DND/UCC framework.
Please provide a complaint/reference number and a substantive response, rather than a generic apology.

I request the competent authorities to examine this pattern under the applicable framework governing unsolicited commercial communications.
TRAI itself provides a mechanism for consumers to complain about UCC through 1909 / the DND App, and complaints can be investigated where reported within the prescribed period.
This is precisely why DND exists.
