@TonyShaw22 This scheme was initially reserved for Aussie citizens when first introduced by the Scomo government. It was subsequently expanded to include perm residents as well.
@mattjcan The banks will sway whichever way the winds of profit are blowing. If signals from the government of the day are strong enough against net zero, the banks will follow suit.
@MarkoMatvikov I believe there are some ADI’s that have much more than 6%. This 20% limit on new lending is designed to limit those ADI’s taking on too much risk.
But I agree. It’s not much of a limit. Perhaps they’re just firing a shot across the bow of the lenders for now.
