Next week, the Middlesex-London Health Unit anticipates that Environment and Climate Change Canada will issue an Extended Heat Warning beginning Sunday, June 22nd to Wednesday, June 25th. Our region is forecasted to experience four consecutive days of high temperatures. Particularly concerning is that overnight temperatures are not expected to cool off significantly, increasing the risk of heat-related illness.
We are notifying everyone to be prepared, take precautions to be safe and check in on family, friends, and neighbours, especially those who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.

Supportive Housing is Health Care.
At CMHA TVAMHS, we know that housing is a critical part of recovery and wellness. Our Highly Supportive Housing programs provide much more than a roof...
🧵1/These are net new spaces that will offer a positive impact on the community - not an expansion of any program. Both projects have been approved through a formal RFP Process with the City of London.
@StevensonLDN The only way to solve a national housing crisis is through housing, in particular, affordable supportive housing. Do your research on the positive impacts harm reduction has on long-term housing stability and recovery as part of a continuum and stop spreading misinformation.
@StevensonLDN Spreading misinformation is irresponsible as an elected official. Harm reduction doesn't equate to valuing illegal substances, it means the people who use illegal substances are equally valued to those who do not and the services offered reflect that.
@StevensonLDN What’s more important than the colonial version of a national anthem that doesn’t accurately acknowledge our ancestral history and stolen land is the overrepresentation of Indigenous People’s in homelessness, MMIW, poverty, jail, or access to basic human rights like water…

🚨 Doug Ford has released a new encampment plan to criminalize people for not having a home. His plan will hurt people who are already suffering, cost taxpayers millions, and make the homeless crisis worse.

From @abacusdataca: 40% of Ontarians oppose the use of the Notwithstanding Clause to clear encampments while just 12% strongly agree with it. Overall, 69% of Ontarians are opposed, neutral, or unsure.
Just 1 in 5 @fordnation supporters strongly agree with the use of the Clause.
This Remembrance Day, let’s remember those who served—and continue to serve—our country, but may now be facing battles here at home. Thousands of veterans experience homelessness on any given night.
Let’s honour their service with action.
