In the APES land unit we learned that water soaks into grass, crops, etc. This can be a determining factor for farmers, and landowners. In this case, once the snow melts it will deep into the grass and help nourish the vegetation. @franklinlorax#apesland
I drive an Acura TL 2015 which averages 29 miles per gallon. In the apes population unit, we learned about limiting gasoline consumption. This can lower our ecological footprint and maintain resources for the growing population! @franklinlorax#apespop
This is Molly. Molly is a great example of a K-strategist because she was born in a small litter of puppies and relied on her parents for care after birth. She also fits the type one survivorship curve because animals like her tend to live a long life! #apeseco@franklinlorax
In the ecology unit we’ve learned how organisms are part of communities, but also are in an individual population. Humans are their own population but they also coexist with other species in the temperate seasonal forest. #apeseco@franklinlorax
When it rains water goes down the sewer drain. It flows into the Oak Creek Water Treatment Facility to filtrate our water for our daily use! @franklinlorax#apeswater
The water bottle could end up in the Great pacific garbage patch if not recycled. It could end up as a micro plastic and could contaminate the fish we catch and eat. Make sure to recycle the plastic water bottles you use! #apeswater@franklinlorax
During the APES field trip the class saw a glacier lake. This is a body of water that originates from a glacier. It typically forms at the foot of a glacier, on, in, or under it. As Earth's climate warms, the world's glaciers are shrinking creating lakes like these! #apeswater
We carpool home from school because it’s a sustainable way to travel- reducing vehicle emissions and saving resources for future generations. Less cars on the road is good, but walking or biking is an even better way to reduce your ecological footprint!! #apesintro#franklinlorax
I bring a reusable lunch bag, containers, and water bottle every day. All of these things allow me to use fewer single-use plastics. These options are more sustainable for our community and minimize plastic waste which tends to not get recycled. #apesintro@franklinlorax
This lunchbox is part of VB’s ReActive collection, which uses recycled materials like plastic bottles as fabric. This is part of the 3R initiative(reduce, reuse, recycle), and these efforts help eliminate unnecessary waste to keep the environment clean! @franklinlorax#apesintro
