@velvetporter I agree, many Canadian artists are not recognized due to the international artists being aired so frequently. I agree there should be variety but for example as a Newfoundlander it is nice to hear locals over international artists some times. #mus2011

I believe it's important to enforce a quota of Canadian artists. It's important that Canadian radio stations support Canadian artists. Although, it's important to do this you should also play music Americans created as they create the majority of popular music today. #mus2011

Wald is not incorrect but I disagree with him. Although recordings are more accessible most individuals would favour watching their favorite artists live. Concerts are more costly but it's proven people will spend the money to see their favourite artist. #mus2011

The purpose of covering another artists song is to make it your own, however still acknowledging the original artist. If “Schlock" acknowledging the artist and still adding their own twist to the song I believe it shouldn’t be dismissed. #mus2011

Ray Charles uses the breaks in his voice to portray his raw emotion. By doing this he opened himself up publicly to the world making it easier for others to connect to his music. The distinct sound of his voice is what pulled people to listen to him. #mus2011

The music industry has created many false needs such as partying, drug use, and wealth. They portray an “ideal” lifestyle that is mainly influenced through youth. Although people become passive many realize that these things are not needed to be successful. #mus2011
