Anyways it was traditionally asked because people believed that it helped determine the adequacy of the pelvis and predict cephalopelvic disproportion, the belief was that women who had smaller feet had small pelvis therefore were at risk of obstructed labour but it's not factual because SVD depends on many factors in synchrony such as weight /position of the baby, shape of birth canal,contractions.. the best judge of normal delivery is labour itself , if you're size 4 , 3 don't be scared to try normal delivery
