It's reported that Reeves will fund a HUGE benefits giveaway, worth £15 billion, through a tax raid on working people. Let me be clear, obvious and unambiguous with my response.
This is MENTAL.
We should not be punishing men and women who get up, go to work, and contribute to the economy in order to fund yet more indolence. And, for a vast number of people on benefits, it is indolence. Let's call it what it is.
Of course we need a safety net for those who genuinely need it, but the current system is abused beyond belief.
There is a better way.
Cut tax. Cut benefits. Cut spending. Cut everything.
STOP printing money, to fund undeliverable policies.
THAT is how to get inflation under control.
Ban all foreigners from benefits, and put the healthy Brits on benefits who refuse a job to work.
Litter pick. Cut grass. Clean graffiti. Care home help. Whatever. Get them doing SOMETHING for the money.
Raising the two-child benefit cap? NO. Farage has said Reform will do the same. Wrong. Lazy politics, chasing votes. Working parents, many of whom can't afford more children, should not have to fund lazy parents who can't be bothered to get a job. To be honest.
I'll get the usual abuse for saying this, but it's all true.
We must reward hard work, not indolence.
It's that simple.
We already have digital IDs to ensure migrants have the right to work here.
Any foreign employee needs to get a share code on their E-Visa account and give it to the employer to check on a system.
If an employer doesn’t get a share code, they’re breaking the law.
We don’t need digital ID. What’s the real reason behind Starmer’s push for digital ID?
BP is reopening a North Sea oil field, now able to supply at least 11 years worth of energy supply.
This of course has sent the taxpayer-funded wind zealots into meltdown.
Their tax funded subsidies under threat now if BP keeps finding new cheap gas and oil.
Tantrums incoming
🚨NEW: The CPS has released new CCTV footage showing two brothers allegedly assaulting three police officers at Manchester Airport, which has been presented to jurors
ENERGY - What have I just watched??
It’s an actual car crash, how can this even be real?
Energy companies pay 78% tax on their profits. Prices reflect that. Cut the tax and the bills will come down.
*sob* it’s too early for this 🤡
The sentencing council had until 5pm to respond to my legal challenge or face an injunction.
I was advised we had a strong chance of winning.
They have folded under the pressure.
THANK YOU to everyone who supported our campaign to save equality before the law.
Who wants to hear a real idea for delivering tangible savings in education—not just "join a MAT and save a grand on your photocopier while paying a £90k top-slice"? Here's one: @Ofstednews . 🧵
@ShakinthatChalk@TeaLadyJune A lunch break would be nice...we do nothing but deal with students running in a part of the building where they shouldn't be, everyday my lunch break is chaos. Can't remember the last time I sat down to eat my lunch.
@MrsPrimary@ShakinthatChalk When we organise CPD as a profession that runs from 3.30 to 5, we seem to forget that most teachers have been in school since 8am or earlier...
@MrsPrimary@ShakinthatChalk One of the biggest cons and waste of time is PD days, all of ours get disaggregated into twilight CPD which means later nights 20 times a year...who wants that....they sell us a wellbeing christmas shopping day but we have to do 7 extra twilight's to make up for it...no thanks
@Headteacherchat We have an inset which is disaggregated into 6 twilight sessions, so we jump back in on Tuesday with the students in also...no time to prep or anything and it's coursework submission week.
I absolutely detest twilight's and would love to just do the inset days.
@ajferguson98 @Shitlawns@MillerHomesUK@TraffordCouncil I doubt it's as standard, it's probably an upgrade the buyers of the new homes have paid a rather hefty price for out of choice.
Most new builds don't even come with turf as standard, you just get mud.
@DanielKebedeNEU Not something that an educational union should be spending money on, you rely on volunteer reps to support members but will happily instruct and fund travel to events like this...not what most teachers want their union doing...
@morganisawizard We pool everything, my wife only works 8 hours a week as she is the primary care giver for the children and this had always been the case. We have had joint bank accounts since I left uni and everything goes in and comes out of the joint accounts.
