Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Do not become bitter or hostile. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble. We will find a way to make a way out of no way. #goodtrouble
There are no conditions to Love Thy Neighbor. No addendum on Welcome the Stranger. No amendment to the Golden Rule.
And if I’m wrong, may I err on the side of love.
Always, love.
When we make peace we share in what God is already doing. Peacemaking is participating in the Divine nature. Where peacemaking is happening, God is already present, God’s Future is breaking in.
“If somebody should ask, ‘You have received the Holy Spirit, why do you not speak in tongues?’ your reply should be, ‘I do indeed speak in the tongues of all men, because I belong to the body of Christ, that is, the Church, and she speaks all languages.’” —6th-Century Author
“What’s offensive about the Gospel isn’t who it keeps out. It’s not who it keeps away from the table, it’s who it invites in." - Rachel Held Evans
No words...God and Rachel created more room for love.
@justindlong My 2nd thought is there are contexts (eg. ours) where stats show 3 yrs/300 gospel presentations before someone decides to define themselves as Christian. That might skew the 43k teams number, and the 100k convert number.
But, to be fair, I haven’t closely read the article yet.
@justindlong I’ve skimmed through the article, and will give it a further read.
My initial question though is how do we define “convert”. Is that someone who hears and says I’ll follow? Is there follow up and growth? 1/2
