There is no pleasure in I told you so
When my opinion comes from the pain I know
You think life happens to you for the first time
But I know that in life it is every time
You come to me to ease the pain of your heartache
Looking to share that pain with another heart to break

@minjinlee11 Do you have plans on releasing a Korean audiobook version of Pachinko this year? I was planning on buying the Korean bookset for my mother but she prefers listening these days because of the strain to her eyes.
.@aliwong on @cathyparkhong: "I annotated the hell out of 'Minor Feelings'—it’s the kind of book you want to dog-ear and underline. Reading it was such a crazy feeling: I felt so seen that I couldn’t believe that this book existed" #TIME100 https://t.co/u2QogxkQ9X
Adventure and leisure are treasured
as a measure of whether
A Man has Lived a Full Life
Assured of his worth
He ventures through earth
Full of Himself
But ignores the truth
That to uncover
true treasure
Is to discover
the pleasure of her
@minjinlee11@aliwong I recommended both your books (@minjinlee11 & @aliwong ) during AAPI month. So great to see two great minds together! https://t.co/6d0z2mnNSd https://t.co/BkAeLjXQBG
Fissure
The breaking of earth
Begins with a tiny tear-
A fissure of rock
Born of deep vibrations
Amassing heat
And ecstatic energy
Until unable to endure
Its violence any longer
I was pushed
Into the deep
I don’t know
If I fell into the water
Or if the water fell
Into me
A rush of pressure
Pounding my chest
Building Pain
like fire within
Cold to the touch
But burning
Inside
They say Tantrums are a Sign of Trust
Toddlers are so Secure in Your Love of Them
They Feel Free to Break Down
Thus Tantrums are a sign of Ultimate Unconditional Love
...
But I'd Prefer Some Flowers
President Biden's #inauguration was far from the first time 22-year-old @TheAmandaGorman gave a moving performance. Here's 5 original poems commissioned by @CBSThisMorning. https://t.co/Lsi6EBKyeY
On a day for the history books, @TheAmandaGorman delivered a poem that more than met the moment. Young people like her are proof that "there is always light, if only we're brave enough to see it; if only we're brave enough to be it."
I close my eyes to see
The vastness of possibility
Where all color ceases
To exist in its disparate pieces
Every thing and every being are one
Melding together and yet forever alone
They stood up for me
Lined up, by my side
Chanted for a change up
Rose up, sang rise up
Their voices lifted me up
My soul lit up, fired up
Charged up in the roar up
Could feel me soar up
Time to line up
Vote for a power up
Put up or shut up
But in the end...
They stood me up
Life stands still
Death stops for noone
Noone sits by the side of the road
Trembling, heart racing, too scared to move
Life comes in, unwelcome and overbearing
But death moves on, unabashedly arrogant
Noone cares too much to throw life out
But longs for death just beyond reach...
Scars of the past
Heal, but imperfectly
Pain burns through
At the slightest shift
An imprinted memory
Of trauma remains
Twice said is twice too many
A wound reopened
Exposes the rawness
Of unhealed flesh
Pulsating with pain refreshed
Unable to heal again
silence writes a hex
arranging the derangement
pushing to the fringe of unhinged
blood rushing inward, refusing to move forward
stuck in slow motion
perception frozen in a fixed moment
quiet down the heart
reality falters with each flutter
i can't breathe.
