Reading about the origins of Zionism. Did you know Herzl was primarily inspired to found it because of the insanity of the Dryfus affair?

France was seen as one of the safe, developed nations for Jews. But they blamed a Jewish citizen of treason, suppressed the evidence exonerating him, and basically it became this huge scandal.

Basically, it exposed this deep rot of antisemitism at the core of French society, and it was very black pilling. Herzl concluded having their own nation was the only way forward.
