๐ญ **Thought bubble... - TOP'S LAND TAX POLICY**
Iโve lived most of my adult life as a self-employed sole trader. ๐ผ My income has come and gone like the wind, ๐ฌ๏ธ but somehow Iโve made it work. One thing Iโve always done is crunch the numbers ๐ and think about the possible consequences of decisions. Thatโs probably how Iโve survived a rather up-and-down financial existence thanks to my creative inclinations ๐น๐ญ and unpredictable income.
So Iโve been looking at the TOP land tax proposal. ๐ก
I used the calculator ๐งฎ and, based on my circumstances, I would likely struggle to afford the additional land tax. That could eventually mean losing my home. ๐ ๐
"But that's OK," TOP say, "because if you can't afford it, the Government would simply place a lien on your property until you clock off. The debt would be repaid from your estate, and your family would inherit whatever is left." ๐
That got me thinking about the unintended consequences. ๐ค
โข What if someone had mercenary offspring? ๐ฌ I don't, thankfully. โค๏ธ But we all know elder abuse exists in New Zealand, so it's not an impossible scenario. What if people force the elderly to check out earlier?
โข Could some people end up feeling guilty about living a long life because every extra year means more debt accumulating against the family home? โณ๐ก Is it too convenient that our "assisted un-alive" laws are expanding? ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐
Meanwhile, the Government gets repaid first. ๐ฐ Families inherit less. ๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ In many cases, there may not be enough left to help the next generation into a home of their own. ๐
Over time, larger developers ๐๏ธ and well-capitalised investors ๐ผ continue buying up more housing, while more ordinary New Zealanders become lifelong renters. ๐๏ธ
That starts to resemble a modern form of serfdom, where a relatively small number of people own the assets ๐ข and everyone else spends their lives paying them. ๐ธ
Whether you agree with me or not, I think it's important to think through the long-term consequences of policies like this before embracing them. ๐ง Whiteboarding ideas is one thing. Living with the unintended consequences is another.
To me, this feels like a very inhumane tax that, in the long run, won't benefit average working New Zealanders. ๐ณ๐ฟ Instead, I worry it could reduce financial freedom ๐๏ธ and concentrate even more wealth and control in the hands of governments and large property owners. ๐๏ธ๐ข
Happy to hear your point of view. ๐ฌ Hit me with it. ๐๐
KIDNEY DISEASE: an epidemic affecting Millions. Most people who have it don't know they have it. ๐ฑ
Doctors say it's "Irreversible." I beg to differ.
To fix kidney function:
โข Cordyceps mushrooms
โข NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide)
โข Silymarin
โข Nettle Seed
๐งต๐
Cordyceps Mushroom:
โข 1 year human trial, people taking 5g cordyceps daily showed "significant improvement in renal & immune function in patients who had kidney failure":
https://t.co/0WeEqEonHi
โข "The level of serum creatinine in the [cordyceps] group decreased by 35%":
https://t.co/VSyJrDCNdJ
โข Cordyceps helps humans w/chronic kidney disease - reduced Creatinine BUN, overall improved health profile:
https://t.co/lFBJgLQIP4
โข "In this study, we found that Cordyceps could attenuate renal fibrosis through multiple pathways and targets":
https://t.co/VIicU9YYxp
Nettle Seed:
โข "2 published case studies illustrate that nettle seed...quite effective for lowering serum creatinine"
https://t.co/0WeEqEonHi
โข Human case report: man w/kidney disease takes nettle seed 3x per day, Creatinine goes from very elevated, to plummeting to nearly normal in weeks:
https://t.co/fCM4HRpOLP
Dietary Acid Load (w/kidney issues, you may want to consider eating more fruits & vegetables):
โข "The fruits & vegetables intervention reduced dietary acid load, resulting in improved metabolic acidosis status & lower concentrations of kidney injury markers":
https://t.co/wjVVbUnaxC
โข "Lower dietary acid loads...been reported to prevent Chronic Kidney Disease progression in [several] clinical studies":
https://t.co/1Vikr7eLtv
NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide):
โข "The study found that supplementing NMN...protected from the progression of kidney disease":
https://t.co/egSQYUPLIU
โข "NMN Supplementation Protects the Kidney":
https://t.co/aF3lk0glVx
โข "NMN Prevents Kidney Damage & Restores Kidney Function, Japanese Study Indicates":

Silymarin (from Milk Thistle):
โข "The silymarin-treated group had at least a 50% decrease in urine albumin-creatinine ratio after 3 months of treatment" (taking 140mg silymarin 3x/day for 3 months).
"Silymarin concentrates in kidney cells, where it aids in repairing & regeneration by increasing protein & nucleic acid synthesis":

--------------------
LOTS of people asking me lately what can be done about kidney function. I'd do some or all of these, if it were me:
โข Cordyceps - studies indicate 2-3 tsp per day of this could Dramatically help kidney function: https://t.co/yuUoiCp8ZZ
โข Nettle Seed - this is the exact product used in the human trial. 3x/day: https://t.co/5IY8eXPnZi
โข NMN - (best brand) 1 or 2 grams/day: https://t.co/NsLndU7Td9
โข TMG - helps NMN work better. Take w/NMN, 500-1000mg: https://t.co/gsRzmQm741
โข Silymarin - human trial used an amount equal to 4 of these caps, spread throughout day: https://t.co/w4Wpm8NSVl

@matt_horncastle Technically they would have left you alone if you'd put that contact address on your promotor statement , which is the law. But they're still pretty rank to be that petty over it.
Hey @UniofOxford!
When your reputation laundering for the tyrant Jacinda Ardern causes so much outrage your X account with over a million followers gets ratioed by some nobody in the South Pacific, it's time to consider withdrawing the faux award and apologising to her victims.
The Opportunity Party is increasingly looking like a Labour project to destroy the Green Party.
Let's join some dots.
1. The General Manager of the party is Iain Lees-Galloway
2. His business partner is Toni Grace, Hipkins' partner
3. The number 3 candidate is Kayla Kingdom-Bedd, an author of the He Puapua report that Labour secretly adopted
4. She is the partner of James Shaw, the ousted leader from the Green Party
5. James Shaw is said to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting policy wise
6. There is at least one union linked candidate
7. The media luvvies are in on it.
Do not be hoodwinked in to thinking this is some sort of teal centre right party, it is not.
It is a project designed to destroy the Green Party, aised and abetted by Labour linked people and a former Green Party leader
@seetheisolate@caffeineworship@ShaiNavot It has supporters right across the political spectrum. The capitalists that support it expect it means tax relief in other areas, but not a whiff of that from TOP. Their policy is all take. So socialism.
@seetheisolate@caffeineworship@ShaiNavot LVT is not exclusive to capitalism and the way TOP are implementing it is appalling, unfairly affecting asset rich low income home owners. It deserves scrutiny and criticism which the media won't do.
The problem is the bias. The media seem to be in love with Q and TOP. Itโs really obvious. I get it, sheโs likeable, theyโve reinvented TOP and theyโre the shiny new thing. The problem is their socialist policies arenโt being scrutinised anywhere near as much as the other parties and the interviews are soft and gushy. Their rise in the polls is because the media are promoting them favourably and thatโs the criticism Iโm seeing. The fact that they keep referring to themselves as centrist is duplicitous and again, deserves further scrutiny from our media.
