@on_lothianbuses@Justchill698042 I'm sure Lothian meant to say that of course assistance dogs are always allowed on the bus unless it's full, carrying assistance dogs surely isn't at 'drivers discretion' or they could fall foul of the DDA.
@MsroshniK@on_lothianbuses Hi Rinne, normally buses queue behind each other, however if the bus in front has it's hazard lights on (like when swapping drivers) other buses will not wait behind it, the driver will look at the stop, if nobody steps forward or waves to him he will drive by.
@9Trafferty@on_lothianbuses @FirstBus I've noticed most of the other tweets are complaining about late buses, they simply don't have time to wait for anyone, 30 steps can be 2 or 3 minutes to get on, get pass out and get a seat. A few people do that per journey and everyone else is complaining the bus is late.
@SnowySzafran @on_lothianbuses@EastCoastBuses It's a common problem, and a no win situation for the driver. They can ask them to stop, or to get off, but they'll know from years of experience that it doesn't happen. That leaves radioing for assistance, holding everyone up when services are already stretched & late
@leither94@IanFishHeir@on_lothianbuses I was told by a driver that the stop is where the flag is (the sign with the bus numbers on) That this layby might say 'bus stop' but unless they move the actual stop then it shouldn't be used as one?
@CaroleB49258271@on_lothianbuses You probably could get the later one but with all the roadworks and diversions at the moment I'd leave extra time and either arrive early for your appointment or grab a coffee in Corstorphine if you're early.
@CaroleB49258271@on_lothianbuses I would get a 33 at 5 past 11 from the hospital, they are more reliable, get off at Shandwick Place, walk one stop back towards Princes Street and get a bus there to corstorphine. That way you have greater flexibility in case of missing or delayed buses.
@last_gifs@on_lothianbuses Is there any chance you're just standing there? Not stepping forward with your hand out, letting the driver know you want on? They're not mind readers ;)
@peasngravy70@on_lothianbuses Normally yes, but not this year, my sons mate doesn't want to do it but is being forced, and it's a regular day in terms of pay.
@GilliesLorraine @on_lothianbuses I normally take the drivers side, but this is out of order, unless she was abusive to the driver you'd think they would have let her travel.
@radgetta@on_lothianbuses Happens quite often I've noticed if the bus in front is late, I think it must pick up double the passengers? It's own and the ones for the bus behind, which makes it even later and the nice, empty bus behind sails past.
@MattAyling@on_lothianbuses My son is a driver and he says it's hopeless/pointless asking for help, control can sometimes take 40 mins to respond, then if they phone police the police could take the same 40 mins to answer and won't send anyone anyway. easier to just ignore rather than inflame situation
@MattAyling@on_lothianbuses I do understand your frustration though, I'd suggest sitting downstairs from the start, the trouble makers almost always go upstairs.
