It’s hard to accept the world we’re heading against and how the majority of individuals and businesses are still not doing their utmost to #ActOnClimate If I didn’t work on making this better every day, I honestly don’t know what I’d do. #Sustainability#ClimateActionNow
Here are the big takeaways from the @IPCC_CH Synthesis Report released today.
First, climate change has already caused widespread and substantial losses to almost every aspect of human life on this planet, and the impacts on future generations depend on the choices we make NOW.
I believe that if we treated climate breakdown as the emergency it truly is, we'd halt it faster than anyone can imagine. As a society, we are barely even trying yet. Let's try for real and see what happens! #EmergencyMode
One of the hardest things about writing a book on the history of the climate crisis was reading people in the 1960s & 1970s warn, in a loose, far-off way, of “sometime after the year 2000” and how, if CO2 emissions weren’t tackled, it’d get dangerously warm.
This catastrophe is not the result of "inaction", as some would have it. It is the predictable result of decades of intentional decisions to prop up the fossil fuel industry and other corporate interests. This is what climate action under capitalism looks like.
Climate collapse is
supply chain collapse and
economic collapse and
reproductive and civil rights collapse and
social collapse and
democracy collapse and
ecosystem collapse and
biodiversity collapse and—
Everything is connected.
50% of the world’s population is underrepresented at all levels of impactful #climateaction decision-making, with devastating consequences for our livelihoods. I support #shechangesclimate in the crucial work to change status quo. Join in, it counts.

@GErenewables@s_hickok in #electriccity2021 panel on how to remove barriers for onshore #wind growth needed to meet climate goals. ‘We need to engage in much more dialog w local community, genuinely addressing concerns to speed up and solve permitting issues’ #Energytransition
We are proud that we will produce #ZeroWasteBlades by 2030, a significant milestone for our industry. The commitment is a step forward in our #sustainability journey after becoming the first #CarbonNeutral business in the wind industry https://t.co/HBKuxPogLU #ElectricCity2021
This is a great example of cross-sector collaboration between @GErenewables and GM - combining strengths to improve supply of key materials for wind turbines and electric vehicles.
...just doing our part to accelerate the #energytransition.
We all fight for the things we love. I wrote this book because of who and what I love. Climate change affects us all, and to care about it and act on it we only need to be one thing: a human who loves. Buy now, wherever books are sold: https://t.co/N0oLSSlvWr
Never forget that we had all the scientific evidence we needed to act on global warming over 40 years ago, but the fossil fuel industry spent millions to spread disinformation and block climate action.
Global warming isn’t a tragedy, it’s a crime.
