@TimesRadio@GreenJennyJones I think it’s important to remember there will be a legal process and a referral to the IOPC which will hold them to account. I have hosted Jenny jones on two occasions at Met Police taser training. Not all officers have taser.
“Apprehending violent and dangerous criminals is a full contact and messy task which may appear shocking to observers with little experience of policing in the real world.”
Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley writes to Zack Polanski.
@PC_Angry@shannonsbrokey@shimiMacGhille@chaos6esu It is highly unlikely that someone can override NMI, however it’s not impossible. Even if they do it will be impaired so they wont be functioning fully. My source for this is observing voluntary exposures some years ago. The reasons for limited effectiveness above are correct!

We have worked with the prison service since 2009 to introduce this equipment.
I’m pleased that today it’s now available to specially trained officers! #taser#hmpps@hmpps
@PFM192381@Brick_Cop@hmpps A whole mix of things. It’s always been a decision for the ministry of justice to make.
We have been there to support the concept.
@remmy_308@Brick_Cop@hmpps I would imagine it will be similar to how we introduced it to policing. Start small with experts, so it can be reviewed and then if there’s a need for it, and an evidence base, continue or consider rolling it out wider. But that’s for the future
I am pleased to see this happening! We first looked at this in 2009/2010. I went with a prison delegation to an Arizona state prison to see how their officers got on with it. It was a success! #taser#prisonofficer@POAUnion
Tasers in prisons to be trialled after Abedi attack - BBC News. Why do certain sections of the media refer to Prison Officers as guards or warders. That term went out in the 1920s. Do keep up. Steve Gillan Gen Sec https://t.co/0hJTTaJpb9
"There's something not quite right about this, and an investigation would find out quickly." Listen to @Councillorsuzie make the case for a public inquiry into the investigation of the firearms officer involved in the Chris Kaba case:
@Thursley @metpoliceuk Those days still happen and the journos still do the same. Some scenarios are so near the mark they get really sucked into it and make all sorts of mistakes. A powerful way of proving the point, sadly not many want to show themselves making mistakes and it never makes front page
@LostinAylesbury @matthew_barber @BTP@PoliceChiefs Hi Andrew. We have been there before, we do continuously scan the horizon for new equipment for front line officers and are always looking, reviewing and testing.
Always open for suggestions in case something we arent aware of meets our requirements!
@matthew_barber @BTP@PoliceChiefs Good to meet you today Matthew and grateful for your support in this important work for front line officers #taser@BTPChief
