"What is the risk of Iowa drinking water sources being impacted by CyanoHAB toxins?
What is the exposure risk of CyanoHAB toxins from inland lakes?
What is the projected trajectory of HABs in Iowa lakes, and possible mitigation scenarios?"

Honored to be recognized:
Principled Candidate in 2026 by Civics Credentialing.
I sign the @trustedelection Principles each time I run because we need a "movement working to restore trust in U.S. elections through shared principles, civic education, and community-based action."
I've heard from Rep. Jason Gearhart that there was information clarifying that this permit will not be to export Iowa water out of state. I was unable to attend the public meeting in the fall and didn't find any info reported. I look forward to learning more at the 9th.

#GunSenseCandidate - because we all deserve to safely move through our lives.
Thank you to @MomsDemand for working tirelessly to reduce gun death in the US. I recommend the #BeSmart campaign for some great starting points for protecting kids!
I’ve worked closely with Rep. @LevinforIowa in the Iowa House. As her colleague, I’m grateful for her leadership on issues related to women’s health care, access to care for cancer patients, and early childhood education. As a senate candidate, I’m grateful for her support.
New post: Six Iowa House Democrats (including @MatsonForHouse and @LevinforIowa ) share some of the positive and negative feedback they heard on their statewide education listening tour. #ialegis#Iowa#edu

Iowa farmers deserve continued support and transparency. That’s why today we rolled out a plan to put Iowa farmers first.
Together, let’s build a stronger future for hardworking rural Iowa! 🌽🌾🚜

Being available to my constituents remains a high priority. I wanted to set regular check-ins that people can put on their calendars, know where to find me, and either stop in to listen and to join the conversation or stop by just to share a question, comment, or concern. 1/4

Thanks to 2Dogs for agreeing to be my venue for these four Friday evening check-ins! I have to be honest, I always pick #IADist89 locations where I know I'm going to enjoy my meal, no matter how many people show up! 3/4
Thank you to JoCo @LWV & everyone who came out to share questions about education in the #ialegis. Topics ranged from attacks and word proposals on higher ed, to childcare, to local school trust. Watch the past recordings anytime on their website!

First week of the #ialegis is wrapped and first newsletter of the session is out! It includes some thoughts on the week's speeches, and on where I'll be putting my time and energy on behalf of #iadist89 in 2026!

Thank you to EVERYONE who came out and meet with us, to share their experiences and expertise, and to help us better envision the state's role in ensuring that EVERY Iowa kid has a GREAT education. And, thank you to State Rep. Heather @MatsonForHouse for leading this tour.
This fall, IA House Education Committee Dems decided that we needed to hear Iowan's thoughts and concerns on the topic of schools.
So, we went all over to hear what educators, parents, students, administrators, community members, board members, and others had to say.

TONIGHT:
Final Interim #IADist89 Check-in at 2 Dogs Pub 8-9pm tonight. I can't wait to hear your concerns, excitement, and hopes for the '26 legislative session!
There aren't major highways everywhere. Sometimes, we're on gravel and dirt. (Good luck finding EV charging, Elinor.) It's worth it.
There aren't fancy facilities everywhere. Sometimes we're in a classroom or a basement. Sometimes, those conversations are deeper, more personal.
This state is kinda big. And the people who live here are not neatly, evenly distributed.
So it's on us, as representatives, to get around, listen to each other, and ensure that every Iowan has a chance to make their voice heard.
