@CeannaF24 @KIN110UofR I believe that the funding should be accessible to all athletes but focus on the recreation sport programs. Elite athletes usually are given many sponsors and assistance when it comes to funding, where as recreational athletes receive their funding from the government.

@KIN110UofR when looking at the Paris olympics, the estimated cost was $8.2 billion. With that cost being so high, this caused hotel prices to increase by 200%. The Paris olympics caused a major revenue source to this city, despite the cost, it led to many sponsorships.

@KIN110UofR In sport you can see fans become violent and aggressive if the outcome of the game is not what they had hoped for. For example a Celtic fan was arrested for throwing a water bottle at Kyrie Irving after a NBA playoff game. These actions prohibit fans from sports.

Many elite athletes struggle with Mental Health issues. 35% of athletes from this article found themselves burnt out, depressed and suffered from anxiety. As one who has participated in sport, it makes me wonder how many people go unnoticed.

@MeganStark394 @KIN110UofR E-sports is a hard activity to classify as a physical activity. When I look at a physical activity I think of something that is active but when looking at this photo, it makes me reconsider. E-sports have benefits and could be used to improve an individual.

@JasminFlaman @KIN110UofR No I think after the sexual harassment lawsuit, this individual shouldn’t be allowed to keep his job. With sexual harassment being a major issue in sports, Chad Kelly shouldn’t be given the opportunity to keep his career in football.

@KIN110UofR Many sports have different rules or guidelines based on sex. For example, in golf men and women have different tees. Women play off the red tee which is the one nearest to the hole. In competitions, there is a universal tee but it still shows the diversity in gender.

@KIN110UofR Sport organizations are allowing people of a different race to be showcased more on broadcasts. They are allowing these individuals to be featured as coaches and players making race and ethnicity be promoted through professional sports such as the NBA athletes.

@KIN110UofR An example of how sport is so expensive is competing in dance. I competed competitively for many years and with that it came costume, competition, class and travel expenses. All fees added up making it an expensive sport to participate in.

As I was younger, I enjoyed exploring on different playgrounds. There were many instances where friends or myself got hurt due to mental pieces of equipment. For children, I believe it helps to show how play can be fun but also have consequences.

@mczemeres8 @KIN110UofR I agree with you, Mitchell. Being able to be physically active is a key factor in sports. Without having that factor, many if not all sports I was involved in wouldn’t be considered a sport.

@KIN110UofR All individuals define sport as something different. For me I define sport as an activity that involves being physically active. It requires skill and discipline to complete it. A sport is something that you compete in and do at a competitive level. #KIN110week1
