@KIN110UofR When discussing green washing, I thought about my attitude towards "environmentally friendly" marketing. I'm often unaffected because I think they are a money grab where the revenue isn't actually going to the environmental since they are so heavily marketed as good.
@DClayards18199@KIN110UofR Both involve the use and production of equipment, but running is definitely the more environmentally friendly one because it doesn't involve the plane that releases gas into the air.
@KIN110UofR It's such a shame beautiful and expensive sports stadiums are abandoned. The government should find uses for them, like using them for recreation. So much money and space is used, so it's important to make the most of them. #government https://t.co/CeJt4iABB2
@KIN110UofR The 2024 Olympics in Paris significantly boosted Paris' economy. While it probably costed Paris lots of money to host, the money made will help even it out. Hosting also brought lots publicly and sense of prestige to Paris.

@KIN110UofR I talking with my friend about injuries in sport. She injured her foot in the peak of basketball season and she told me she deeply considered not telling anyone so she didn't have to sit out. In the end, she decided to sit out to protect her long term health. #health
@Mu_Yiming06@KIN110UofR Oh ya, I totally agree that some parents can have negative impacts on their child's performance. I think both sides of the banning parents debate have their pros and cons. Ultimately, the debate so situational and depends on the types of people.
@KIN110UofR I decided to do a general search on YouTube of Basketball to see how long it would take to find women's basketball. It took almost a minute. This supports that there is uneven coverage of women in the media. #womeninmedia#MediaCoverage
@KIN110UofR Which form of media do you think you consume the most/are infleunced by the most? Why is this? What factors do you think influences what media you consume?

@caleb_akinade@KIN110UofR It definitely depends on what is being said about the athlete! If positive language is used, it can help encourage them and give the confidence to do well. If it's negative, it could damage their self-image, and 5 distracts them from their performance.
@DivangeWilliams@KIN110UofR Yes! It's incredibly hard to stop something that you enjoy or make part of your identity. Recovery can be a long and draining process leading to frustration, depression and anxiety. Being able to express your feelings is crucial for maintaining motivation and overall wellbeing.
@gresy44022@KIN110UofR I think pushing onself is important, but more important that one takes care of the body and knows limits. The opportunity to compete in many more games in the future and have the ability to perform daily functions are worth far more than winning one game now.
@KIN110UofR When I watched this clip for the first time, I was so disturbed. Biting someone (not in self defense) in any sport or real life is not normal. Yes wrestling includes violence and blood, but not to this level

@KIN110UofR A show I loved as a kid was "Bella and the Bulldogs." At first, Bella was not allowed on the football team because of her gender. Only after proving her skills is she eventually allowed to join. She faces criticism, judgement, and is underestimated.

Rueben Mayes was a running back for the New Orleans Saints from North Battleford. He is of African decent and played 7 impressive years in the NFL. He inducted into the Collage Football Hall of Fame and has broken many records. #saskathletes https://t.co/yYsO8EFgui
@KIN110UofR In the yellow tribes case, assuming the black man was naturally athletic (therefore being a good swimmer) and Asian woman was smart worked out for them. However, in real life, assuming skill based on race can be very harmful and racist (5)
@KIN110UofR Tuesdays class about how race logic reminded me of the first episode of survivor S19. The leader had to choose tribemates (who they haven't personally met yet) to participate based on their initial perceptions. (1) https://t.co/pqfHHLxrXG
@KIN110UofR@KIN110UofR Even race logic outside of sports is evident. The Asian woman on the tribe is selected for being the "smartest". Keep in mind, the leader hadn't spoken a word to her or the black man. She commented on this sayjng (I think) "he probably chose me because I'm Asian." (4)
@KIN110UofR@KIN110UofR The black man did super well, but it's interesting how he was chosen so quickly. I couldn't find the actual clip of the picking, but I oddly recall the leader saying "he looks athletic." Even if he didn't say it, it still is reflective of race logic (3)
@KIN110UofR@KIN110UofR Ex.who is the most agile the smartest, etc." I still find it so interesting that the leader of the yellow tribe automatically chose the black man as the swimmer/most athletic. It just reinforces the assumption/stereotypes that black people are extremely athletic (2)
