BREAKING NEWS
The 2023 #NobelPrize in Physiology or Medicine has been awarded to Katalin Karikó and Drew Weissman for their discoveries concerning nucleoside base modifications that enabled the development of effective mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.
HMGB2 regulates the differentiation and stemness of exhausted CD8+ T cells during chronic viral infection and cancer. Sharing our newest discovery from our lab. So proud of my Ph.D. Student Emily Neubert and team!! https://t.co/QmmQUvLIVq
Fantastic #cshlmRNA 2023 conference with @LVSoles and @YongshengShi!!! 2nd cold spring harbor conference that I attended but 1st one in person and 1st one attending as a postdoc 🎓 Wait for me to come back in 2025!
@AliciaChi8 Lol I can’t get R to work and I hate learning it. I’m just trying to master my wet lab skills so I can do certain techniques that others cannot do
Finished "Bacteriophage T4 Infection" this morning. The thin white line at left, which folds up and down 10 times, depicts the length of the T4 genome. After I add a few finishing touches and make sure I haven't forgotten anything, I'll put the full-size file @buildmodels.
A record for the lab: three students graduated in one year! 🎉🎊They (Kristianna, @LVSoles, and Liang) joined around the same time and fundamentally transformed the lab. I’m forever grateful and can’t wait to see what they will achieve in the future!
So incredibly proud of my wonderful undergrad, Alice, who did an amazing job presenting her research at the UCI UROP Symposium today!! (Redacted to create anticipation for upcoming findings 🤫)
Excited to share our new work on direct protein-based genome editing in primary cells. We termed it Peptide-Assisted Genome Editing (PAGE) CRISPR-Cas platform. This platform allows rapid and effective editing of primary cells with minimal toxicity. https://t.co/tRdFwotwcW
New preprint from our lab and a great collaboration with @seeliglab !
The anti-cancer compound JTE-607 reveals hidden sequence specificity of the mRNA 3' processing machinery https://t.co/audwUX6ZI2
Happy to share our recent insights into eukaryotic mRNA 3' end processing where we dissect the molecular interactions of hFip1. It took only a pre-print to make me tweet :) Thanks to everyone involved! @MartinJinek https://t.co/kzKEexzQdg
