I think I've spotted where the last 20 years has gone wrong. It turns out that being able to Google a topic is *not* quite as good as being an actual expert in it with qualifications and experience and stuff. I know!
Everyone in the world of children's books is supporting @CressidaCowell's call on the government to invest in school libraries. Because we know, as @chrisriddell50 once said, that LIBRARIANS CREATE THE READERS OF THE FUTURE! #lifechanginglibraries

Happy #WorldBookDay! I believe EVERY CHILD CAN BE A READER. Give them the widest possible range of books, and let them choose freely. Never say they're "too old" or "the wrong gender" for a book. Because every reader has the right to read whatever they love!

Today we're pleased to share some early findings from our 2020 School Library Survey, conducted with @SoftlinkEdu 📝

How do you get kids to read? LET THEM READ THINGS THEY REALLY WANT TO READ! And let them enjoy it, whatever it is: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, picture books, comics, sports reports. All reading is reading! Let it be a pleasure, and #literacy will follow!
