@gaughen We see it across the political compass. There is a reckoning coming in our country as we decide on what our values and the fate of the world will be. Americans can choose freedom, human rights, and progress over animus and authoritarianism.
@FrankChodorov You cannot ban and criminalize actions that do not harm others and call yourself free market or limited government. The preservation of this alleged "moral order" is what attracted the fascists to your movement in the first place.
@FrankChodorov In what way did most elected conservatives advocate for free markets, limited government, individual liberty, and personal responsibility? The GOP has been a party of large intrusive government for a long time and now the movement is entirely fascist-authoritarian.
On this Veteran's Day, we honor the Americans who bravely served our country and those who sacrificed their lives. We hope for and work toward a more peaceful and free world for all people. Thank you for your service! ๐บ๐ธ
@joegold47 @JamesSurowiecki Per capita there are a lot of immigrants in red states, too, of varying statuses. Removing immigrants hurts them just the same. Like shooting yourself in the foot. Of course that's what MAGA is though. It's a Leopard Eating Face Party.
@davebabler @JamesSurowiecki MAGA wants to strip people of their right to vote. They're saying the quiet part out loud all the time! It's regressive and fascist in every way.
thus becoming the first Native American judicially granted civil rights under American law.
Chief Joseph from the above quote was a renowned leader of the Nez Perce (or Nimiipuu) tribe who led his people on a 1,170-mile flight in 1877 to escape forced displacement...
The day was founded in 1988 by psychologists Robert Eichberg and Jean O'Leary to promote the idea that coming out is a powerful political act that combats discrimination through visibility and personal connection. LGBTQ+ individuals are our friends, family, and coworkers.
@Chucky589_22@TheDemocrats@GovPressOffice@CAgovernor We are not affiliated with the Democratic Party -- we advocate for free and fair elections for all voters and have denounced the gerrymandering of both Texas and California as unconstitutional and political theatre.
@TrueSlazac But even in the case where a city might use taxpayer money to develop housing themselves vs. incentivize developers, a leftist would still want the housing owned by the government where the rest of Americans would want to be able to buy and own the property for themselves.
@TrueSlazac Leftists don't like capital, markets, or abundance in general. They believe that people choosing to exchange value (esp profit) is evil/exploitative to varying degrees. Easing restrictions and taxes which lowers prices (meaning more affordable housing) opposes their worldview.
@IskandarBnt@GriftSpotter@fremen1000@cafreiman If the US is so ill why are we still better off than China? We think you're operating under false assumptions. Ask Hong Kong how society is for them... people don't like living under a boot. Freedom and democratization is what attracts people from authoritarian regimes to the US.
