Today, 14 July 2026, a massive protest rally was held in Kangpokpi against the unwarranted arrest of Kuki CSO leaders, including Pu K. Lhouvum, a highly decorated retired officer of the Indian Defence Estates Service (IDES).
The Manipur Police (@manipur_police) have had no time to arrest any of the culprits responsible for the burning of 17 Kuki villages and the killing of 16 Kuki civilians since March, yet they can target CSO leaders.

Ambush was carried by NSCN(IM) in which Indian army lost 2 soldiers , last night Indian army/police arrested 4 suspected in same ambush.
UNC (Naga CSO) mobilized the mob against Assam rifles and damaged the property in Senapati. This is how militant group NSCN and Civil society org like UNC work together, they are two sides of same coin. They have been guzzling government money from contracts together still people foolishly rally behind them and then will blame Central government. Delhi need to tighten grip on these CSO’s and their leaders . If these rioters/militants think restraint shown by forces is weakness they will be proven wrong like their forefathers were !!
⚠️ Here is what happened today, 15 July 2026, at approximately 2:00 PM in Noney District, Manipur.
Teikhang and Lenglong villages came under a coordinated arson and destruction attack by Tangkhul-led factions of NSCN (Muivah) and ZUF-K. The villages suffered extensive damage as a result of the attack.
This marks the 18th and 19th Kuki villages to be burnt by NSCN Naga militants since February 2026.
The State Government, led by the weak @YKhemchandSingh, has failed to protect these villages from armed attacks.
Kuki Inpi appeals to the Central Government to take immediate action by launching a strong counter-terrorism response against the groups mentioned above.
Until our demand for a Union Territory with a Legislature is granted by the Government of India, Kukis will continue to be victims in their own land.
Read the official press release from Kuki Inpi for the full details and statement. 📰
"The film should have been cleared by the #CBFC and released widely for audiences in #Punjab and beyond. Blocking its release and taking it down soon after is a mistake, as people deserve to know what happened in Punjab", says @singhlawyers on #Satluj's removal from OTT platform.
Amit Shah @AmitShahOffice met the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India to discuss FCRA-related matters and the Manipur Kuki-Zo issue. He appealed to the Catholic bishops to help bring peace to Manipur.
At this rate, he is meeting everyone to discuss our issues except us—the affected party.

An Act of War: Al-Qaeda-trained NSCN-IM's "Holy War" against India claims two Indian Army lives in deadly Ambush.
■In a brazen act of war, heavily armed NSCN-IM Terrorists ambushed an unsuspecting Assam Rifles convoy with IEDs at Lungshang Khong in Hungpung. Two Indian Soldiers were killed in action, making the supreme sacrifice while valiantly engaging the Terrorists.
■The site of the ambush is no coincidence. Hungpung is a vital operational nerve centre & regional stronghold of the NSCN-IM.
It was at Hungpung's Bakshi Ground that Th. Muivah first set foot & landed by helicopter, marking his dramatic return to Manipur after 50 years in exile before proceeding to his native village of Somdal during a highly publicized homecoming.
■The latest NSCN-IM's cowardly ambush on the Assam rifles comes just a day after the same Terrorists attacked Thingkhongjang village in broad daylight, which left an 8-year old girl & a 56-year-old mother critically injured.
■3 months earlier, the Manipur Police investigation definitively established that the NSCN-IM planned & executed the Kidnapping & Murder two kukis in march 2026, which was the precise flashpoint that escalated a drunken brawl to localized arson and sporadic skirmishes into one of retaliatory abductions & killings.
■The Ministry of Home Affairs (Counter Terrorism & Counter Radicalization Division) citing the specific involvement of the NSCN-IM, characterized the NSCN-IM as a "terrorist gang" & added that the Central Government is of the opinion that the NSCN-IM, a Terrorist gang perpetrated the attack with an intention to deliberately "Strike Terror & panic in the minds of people."
■The MHA issued an order declaring the incident a "Scheduled Offence" with "National Ramifications" & mandated the @NIA_India to assume full control of the investigation to uncover the broader conspiracy, thereby shifting the case of kidnapping & murder of Thengin & Thangboimang from a local law-and-order into the realm of national security & terrorism.
■In the wake of this brazen act of war & escalating cross-border terrorism, the Government of India must permanently terminate all peace negotiations with the NSCN-IM & formally re-designate it as a terrorist organization.

Another day, another Kuki village being set ablaze by NSCN-IM militants. Despite the Kuki-Zo people being on the receiving end of Meitei–Kacha Naga hegemony, they continue to be conveniently portrayed by these groups as the villains, even as they see themselves as the victims.
Kuki Inpi Jiribam, Tamenglong & Noney (JTN) has strongly condemned the attack on Leikot Kuki Village in Noney District on 2 July 2026. According to the organization, heavily armed NSCN-IM militants overpowered local village volunteers, set the village ablaze and caused extensive damage. JTN described the incident as a grave act of aggression against civilians, questioned the adequacy of the government's security arrangements and urged the Central @PMOIndia and Manipur governments @YKhemchandSingh to conduct an impartial investigation, bring the perpetrators to justice, strengthen security and ensure the safety and dignity of the affected villagers.

Two interesting press statements on the same day from the Litan cluster of villages.
1. Kuki CSO Working Committee said:
“Beginning at approximately 6:48 PM, civilian settlements of Mongkot Chepu came under a sustained attack from three directions: Leingangching (S. Laho), armed positions operating from the vicinity of Litan Sareikhong-Tangkhul Police station, and the Sikibung-Lilen Ridge. The assault persisted with the use of mortars and other sophisticated weapons until approximately 11:08 PM, subjecting innocent civilians to prolonged terror and grave insecurity,”
2. The other version from S. Laho:
Residents of Laho village (Leingangching) have reported an unprovoked and sustained attack on Naga villages, including Litan, Sharkaphung, and Laho, under Litan Police Station, occurring on Tuesday [26 May] at around 10:22 PM. Also, the villagers have accused security forces of firing at Naga civilians instead of targeting the source of aggression.
Clearly, one of them is lying. But who?
Ukhrul Times published the two stories separately without sorting out that question.

🏔️ What happened today in Phaimol, Indo-Burma Border
In the early hours of 1 July 2026, militants carried out a vicious cross-border arson attack on Phaimol village in Kamjong District. This historic Kuki village — part of our traditional homeland — was systematically targeted. All 20 residential houses were burnt to the ground, reducing the entire settlement to ashes.
The attackers were a combined force of NSCN, Meitei Valley-Based Insurgent Groups (VBIGs), and the Shanni Nationalities Army (SNA), who crossed the international border from Myanmar into India. The attack came just one day after the Assam Rifles vacated its security post at Phaimol, leaving our people completely unprotected.
Phaimol still stands as our village. No amount of burning and displacement will erase our rightful claim to our ancestral land.
This incident is part of a continuing and deliberate pattern of attacks on Kuki villages across Kamjong, Ukhrul, and Kangpokpi districts in 2026. The involvement of Myanmar-based armed groups highlights the serious cross-border security failure along the India-Myanmar border.
Our families have lost everything overnight — homes, belongings, and safety. Yet our connection to Phaimol remains unbroken.
We demand immediate justice, security restoration, and the right to return to our village. The people of Phaimol will not be erased. We stand strong with our village. The world must see what is happening to Kuki communities in the hills.

As the unnecessary noise, false accusations and crocodile tears of victimhood begin to fade, it is imperative to once again highlight a crucial fact; it was the Kuki-Zo people who made the FIRST humanitarian gesture by releasing 24 Kacha Naga detained by Kuki-Zo in the Litan Kuki area. This followed as a retaliation after the atrocities committed by Tangkhul militants and the NSCN-IM, who had taken several Kuki hostages.
Acting in good faith and on humanitarian grounds and after receiving assurances from the authorities, the Kuki-Zo released the Kacha Naga hostages FIRST. That goodwill was repaid with betrayal, culminating in the cold-blooded murders of Thengin Baite and Thangboimang Khongsai in Thawai Kuki area in Ukhrul district by Tangkhul militants affiliated to NSCN-IM, who had merely gone out to repair their village's damaged water supply pipeline.
The point remains simple; the Kuki people demonstrated humanitarianism FIRST. Yet we did not parade or politicize that act, because extending compassion, even in times of conflict, is not an exception but a value deeply rooted in Kuki's moral and ethical traditions.
