Did some updates to the Notion DB I made with the new Google Tag parameters + recorded an explainer video. (P.S. I'm doing a webinar about all of this in ~2h from now!)
On Wednesday the 27th (in 2 days!) I'm hosting a webinar about the new Google Tag and Settings Variables. This change should significantly impact how you implement your Google Analytics 4 (and probably in the future also your Ads) tags.
For those who asked: Life after GDPR will continue! However it will likely be somewhere in the second half of 2023.
Weโve got a lot of ideas for the format and plenty of topics to discuss, all weโre missing is the time to execute. ๐ ๐
4๏ธโฃ options agencies have with clients:
1๏ธโฃ Fight & circumvent privacy regulation & privacy tech.
2๏ธโฃ Adopt privacy regulations and handicap your MarTech.
3๏ธโฃ Ignore it all.
4๏ธโฃ Try envisioning and building a new MarTech with Privacy by Design infrastructure.
What would you like to see as the future for the podcast? One idea we have is to structure a season with 1 ep for each step a company has to take on their journey towards data privacy compliance for digital marketing. Other ideas? Comment! ๐
Weโre ๐ง storming about the future of the podcast. One idea weโve got, is to create a new season with 1 ep. for each step a company needs to take on their journey towards taking data privacy for digital marketing seriously.
But would love to hear other ideas or feedback first!๐

Waking up sore from the cowboy era and why a slow (longer than the current sprint) process for privacy compliance checks is a recipe for no compliance from marketers - the newest #LifeAfterGDPR podcast with @RickDronkers Janus Visser and Twan Lammers https://t.co/nyabqsVNga
Speed is essential for the adoption of the required processes to ensure data privacy in digital marketing. If we can't facilitate and deploy quickly, we become a bottleneck that people will try to circumvent.

Agree?? ๐ The table stakes of "doing data" have gone up. If you want to use data, you'll simply have to generate enough ROI from it to justify hiring that FTE that will handle data privacy and compliance.
A new @LifeAfterGDPR live from @DDMA_DAS with @Romarleij and Emma Gordon
One of the issues with Google Analytics is itโs inability to update historic data. This is especially valuable when tracking customer journeys across multiple devices.
@jordanpeck89 explained how @snowplow does allow for this in the latest episode of @LifeAfterGDPR.
