The valiant Fares Adel Abu Zain al-Din from Suwayda was arrested in Lebanon on the orders of Walid Jumblatt, with help from his associates, for organizing a protest outside the commercial properties owned by Maher al-Dalati. Maher is the cousin of Brigadier General Ahmed al-Dalati, who led the violent campaign against the Druze. A child in rural Rukungiri, Uganda or @TimKalyegira's son who can identify 50 different plants by smell, and track goats and cows and sheep in the darkest nights where there is no electricity is less intelligent than a European kid who solves shapes on paper in Copenhagen, Denmark? That is nonsensical. IQ tests don't measure survival skills, creativity, trajectory or wisdom but Eurocentric puzzles or knowledge.

It is deeply concerning to see the United Nations, through @UNDPYemen, persist in photographing beneficiaries of its projects in Yemen in ways that reduce them to visual props, tools for donor outreach rather than human beings with rights and dignity.
What dignity remains when individuals are photographed beside latrines under a “Cash for Work” banner? Were they asked for their informed consent? Do they know their images are being circulated internationally without respect for their privacy?
This practice troublingly mirrors the Houthi approach of degrading citizens in exchange for token aid. It raises serious ethical and human rights concerns about the standards guiding international organizations' work, particularly when it comes to protecting the dignity of the people they serve.
People’s suffering must not be turned into a fundraising strategy. Enough with the exploitation. Enough with reducing lives to visuals for donor satisfaction.
Dignity is not a price to be paid for glossy reports or donor-friendly narratives.
