First time really getting to pitch this summer after a finger injury. 6.2 innings, 2 hits (my team can make plays) 4 BB, and 8 K’s.

🚨 Moving the bat fast accurately is a skill that needs to be trained 🚨
There's an old phrase that goes something like "A rising tide lifts all ships".
For hitters, that “tide” is intent. When you swing with game-like speed and focus, every part of your swing has to level up to keep up—your timing, your sequencing, your barrel accuracy. Practicing at half-speed doesn’t prepare you for the <youth age equivalent of a> 95 mph heater you’ll see under the lights.
That does not mean that even swing in game should be a 10/10ths, 110% G-hack! But the game will present opportunities when the attempt to do damage is both needed and necessary.
Training with game intent raises the bar across the board: your body learns to move faster, your brain learns to make decisions quicker, and your barrel learns to find the ball at full speed.
Your ability to do something productive in the box in a 3-0 count with a runner on 2nd is going to be defined by whether you ever trained for that situation.
👉 So don’t just take reps. Take reps that transfer. Swing fast. Swing accurate. Train the way you want to play.
