@LivWLU I think we could be doing a lot more. I think we need innovative ways to raise awareness. My newsletter is just one example. Public awareness is key. It has to fit into people's daily routines in an approachable way.
@JPBrown5 Great newsletter, you're doing a great thing by providing meaningful content about mental health! I wanted to ask, how do you feel about the current measures in place for reducing the stigma for mental health (ex. raising awareness, donations, etc.) Do you think we could do more?
@YouthTyn Do you have any thoughts on the current methods of reducing the stigma for mental health? Or possibly any ideas for how as people we could provoke positive mental health and stability? Id love to hear your thoughts:)
@RealAnxietyMan Such a great point! People have to help other people. Do you think there's more we can do to break down these barriers regarding mental health and mental illness? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
@Sarahsylvo Hi! Im doing a study for a class in University and wanted to ask: what form of awareness does you believe is the most impactful in creating a solution to end the stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues?
How can we end the stigma? Continue to talk about it, raise awareness for those struggling. Raise money to support foundations that supply the necessary help individuals struggling need. Make learning about mental health and illnesses mandatory in education systems! #EM203
You can take small actions to help end the stigma surrounding mental health. Do not discriminate. Show support and love to everyone you meet. We are ALL human beings and our differences make us unique. Let's talk about it #EM203
@CharitySANE Do you have any innovative ways you believe we can end the stigma for mental health, and ensure the needs of individuals suffering and distress are adequately met?
In order to make progress in solving the malnutrition problem in Africa, government officials and policy-makers have to incorporate long-term nutrition-sensitive planning, rather than cheap, short-term fixes that just mask the problem temporarily.

Facebook's decision to allow false information in political advertisements is appalling.
Voters are being confronted by millions of pieces of misinformation.
A world where up is down and down is up is a world where democracy can't thrive.
One in 5 Ontario children have mental health problems, but only 1/3 of those have mental health care. The need for accessible services, coupled with an end to the stigma is necessary in today's society. #EM203Research

Such shocking statistics should be more heavily broadcasted! I feel like the reality of mental health is not spoken about enough, especially the magnitude of its impact. I'm glad to see new implementations are constantly being put into place. #EM203Robin#EM203Research
Suicide rates for young people are now the highest this century. NIMH expert Michael Schoenbaum and others discuss the positive results from implementing suicide risk screening and follow-up contact for patients leaving care in healthcare settings

I agree. We raise awareness for big events, such as Bell Lets Talk as you mentioned, and it gets a lot of attention the day of. Although, the following day the buzz is gone and it does not receive the recognition and discussion it deserves year-round.
After going through three weeks of the class i have learned that learning through the online world is something different. We live within a generation that has unlimited access to the internet which allows us to have different ways of learning. #EM203Robin
@EM203ABellardin A problem with your concept chart is within the diet section. The "high caloric intake" isn't necessarily an issue as many healthy people require high caloric intake to fit their lifestyle. You also mentioned education twice, maybe just focus on it in one section
@em203aknoop Hi Alexis, looking at access within education, the "girls access to school" may be a problem that associates itself with sexism. As well, it is not super clear as to what you mean by this. Overall, your concept chart looks great!
@EM203asviryova Very good point Arife! We use technology so much to learn; doing research through online databases, using online textbooks to study, communicating and learning about people through our phones! Such rapid advancements has progressed the variety of ways possible to learn.
@SydWLU Adults have definitely had to adapt to the times of technology. In our society, technology is everywhere so it is essential to become accustomed with the ever-changing times.
