This council pound does not use social media to help find owners or rescue spaces. By sharing we give the dogs more of a chance to avoid being put to sleep.
In the UK an unclaimed stray dog becomes the property of the council after 7 days.
The dog can then be sent to a rescue shelter.
If local shelters are full he can be 'euthanised'.
Rescue shelters across the UK are full‼️

Ask a vet to check your dog's microchip details are correct, add your ID to his collar.
This is required by law in the UK, fine for non compliance is £500.

SALEM is a beautiful 2yr old black German Shepherd dog he loves people but can be a little mouthy he likes nothing more than playing ball with his person he needs an active life as he is working line he can be reactive to other dogs and cars so a quiet location would be best as any adopter would need to work on this the rescue have had him out with a female GSD X and he was very respectful of her so it's not aggression towards other dogs he may be scared or frustrated by the lead he deserves a home and a chance he's been in kennels for over 5 months now 😢 - Shads Legacy Rescue

Dilly’ was found straying a week ago near to the #Callow-A49 in Herefordshire.
We really thought that his rightful, caring owner was going to claim him as he was in good condition, he’s very young, very clean and found with a red collar on & a plastic hand written tag with the name ‘WILLY’ on one side and ‘IM EPILEPTIC’ on the other side.
After a week we can only assume that poor Dilly was intentionally left to stray, the tag was brand new so perhaps his owner cared enough to make sure whoever found him was aware that he suffers from seizures, surely a contact phone number would have also been a priority for a dog who has epilepsy to ensure their safe return asap? Especially as he was NOT MICROCHIPPED.
So far, Dilly has shown absolutely no sign of experiencing seizures, or any after effects of seizures.
We are asking any previous owner/carer of this gorgeous boy to please contact us, anonymously if they wish.
It would be really helpful to know more about any previous seizures that Dilly has experienced, how regularly, how long did they last etc..
Was he medicated by a vet elsewhere?
We would imagine that Dilly was most likely taken on with the very best intentions and clearly well cared for, being a scatty young collie perhaps he got a little too much or they couldn’t cope with his seizures.
If by a miracle - we would still absolutely love to find a genuine owner out there who has been desperately searching to find him!
Thankfully Dilly has now calmed after arriving in a frantic and stressed state, it’s no wonder as he had no idea what was happening to him! He’s the sweetest and most loving boy and will be so loyal to his loved ones.
We will begin the search for his forever loving family soon…🏡🐶❤️

Urgent, please retweet, special appeal to help Anya find a FOSTER home #BRISTOL #UK URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR ANYA... We are urgently looking for a foster home for Anya after she experienced a seizure earlier this week. Anya has been checked over by the vet and no obvious cause was found. She has been closely monitored following the seizure and does now seems fine in herself. We really hope we can find someone that could foster Anya to prevent her returning to kennels. Anya is the sweetest soul.
She is very good with other dogs but currently we would like her to go somewhere reasonably calm with someone at home most of the time and where any other dogs wouldn’t be frightened should Anya have another seizure. Anya’s vet costs will be covered by Holly Hedge and advice will be given about how to manage Anya if she has another seizure.
However, it is worth noting that seizures are reasonably uncommon in dogs and it is quite possible that she will not ever have another one, we just cannot be sure at this stage. Anya loves cuddles and affection and has been on home visits with staff and settled extremely well.

Early on I realized sterilising (neutering / spaying) was the only solution. The stray dog population is out of control. 500 million globally. Thats why I stated Happy Doggo and we now fund sterilising with 7 partners in 3 countries (2/7)
