@r_nied good to see your ideas for stem. I teach 3-5 STEM, for 25 years, when we just called it science and engineering, as the song goes I taught STEM when STEM wasn't a term yet! And all the new ideas to do this without groups and for both remote and in-person are terrific PD!

"Who ate the Nance family pumpkin?" is a 4th grade favorite here. 3 years ago xx Nance brought in a photo of their pumpkin, half chewed up and rolled way out into the yard! Kids study local animal tracks, scat, hair, teeth/bite marks, gather evidence for their claim.

@dailystem Thanks! My students and I did that in about 7 projects April to June. Some were better than others, but we gave it the big "scientist/engineer" best try for a first go! !

@dailystem There are amazing short video clips online about how they repair those! My students were very engaged in those, as an extra while we were using the kid wind turbine kits.

I have been in a lab based elem Science /STEM for 20+ years, and working hard to figure out how to translate that experience to a cart setting. I go back to back, 60 min, switching between 5th, 4th, 3rd, back to 4th grades every day.
