@MotabilityOps After customers paying three years to lease, cars are stripped of expensive adaptions and sold at auction. Customers then have to pay another advance payments. No wonder Motability have such huge profit margins.
@MotabilityOps Time to stop the Motability monopoly and open up competition for other companies. The advance payments have gone through the roof despite Motability purchasing cars at heavy discounts from manufacturers and not paying VAT on them.
@MartinSLewis@OctopusEnergy who gave me a standing charge holiday for six months and sent me an electric blanket after I applied to their energy hardship fund. Shame EoN chased me for a year for energy debt, declined hardship fund, no Warm Home Discount and set repayment above CAB advice.
There are lots of statistics bandied about from the Spring Statement but this is one of the starkest for me. The government’s own department of Work and Pensions has shown that the benefit cuts for disabled people will push 250,000 people into poverty.
@darrengrimes For a single person, the standard allowance is £393/mth. Rent, child elements, carer, LCWRA, etc. will all be added. PIP or DLA will be a separate payment. ESA may also be claimed but part is deducted from UC. Transitional protection also added 🤷♀️
@Hambofoundation@claire80lomas Devastating for so many reasons, but more so for the young family she leaves behind. Condolences 💐 to her family and friends
