Thingkhongjang a Kuki Village was attacked in broad daylight by #NSCN Kacha-Naga Militants despite the presence of an F Coy of 86 Battalion CRPF stationed within the village. Their failure to intervene resulted with a young child & an elderly woman injured by bullets & shrapnel.

The 14 Kuki civilians abducted by the NSCN-IM and SDSA continue to remain in captivity, with no official updates and no visible action taken by the Government of India or the Government of Manipur.

We strongly urge the authorities to initiate an immediate and thorough investigation into this matter and to take urgent steps to ensure their safe and unconditional release at the earliest.

The continued silence and inaction only deepen the pain and anxiety of the affected families and communities. Every possible effort must be made to uphold justice, human dignity, and the rule of law.

The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has accused the government and security agencies of “selective justice” and demanded the immediate arrest of those involved in the killing of Kuki-Zo church leaders, along with the safe release of alleged hostages.

In a strongly worded statement, KIM also opposed ongoing combing operations in Kuki-Zo inhabited areas, claiming the actions have increased fear and insecurity among civilians instead of targeting the actual perpetrators.

KIM warned that any further “unjustified” security operations in Kuki-Zo areas would face strong opposition until their demands are addressed.

The statement comes amid rising tensions and continued protests by Kuki-Zo women against security operations across parts of Kangpokpi district.
