Facebook responded to the Wall Street Journal series on the company by saying that social media is still too new, and it’s too early to know if it is harmful.

@LKemp42@dartmouth is acting like they don’t give two shits about the mental health and wellness of their students. Do better, @dartmouth. This reputation will last far beyond the pandemic if you don’t start treating your students like real people that deserve to be there.
Solutions list if I was in charge:

Hey @dartmouth. Kemp here. You don't know me yet, but I know you. No AC (in the summer)! No social events (even though the scientists say go-forth)! Those kids EARNED the right to attend, earned, not paid for. This isn't Saturday morning soccer with orange slices. #freetheivys
Dartmouth's endowment is 5.98 billion. Yet, they actually sat around a table and decided "NO AC for the students this summer". Haven't those kids sacrificed enough? Isn't academia about putting the student first and the school/admins second. This has ruined my day. Truly. #mark
