@simonsarris@Noahpinion 1. They're not showing the ones that were jammed
2. Jamming sometimes occurs as a drone closes in on a target, you can still get a video of the first part
3. Jamming can work by disrupting the drone's output or input, not necessarily both at once
4. Damn right
@shlobbyknobkins@aakashgupta You're misunderstanding that sentence. It's saying their poses are life-like, not the same poses they had right before death.
The heat caused muscle contractions which moved their limbs in natural ways, unlike explosions or other more obvious forms of violent death.
@mehdirhasan@KareemRifai Do you think Iran retaliating against every country in the Gulf, blockading international waters, and spiking oil prices in uninvolved countries is not a violation of international law?
@PrivateBrewing@Justiceishstuff@CathyYoung63 What does this have to do with planes being shot down? The war was an expensive strategic mistake. The USAF and IAF performed very well tactically. These are not contradictions.
@AntoniusBloke@Noahpinion The VP you regret not voting for is literally in Hungary campaigning for one of Putin's allies and accusing Ukraine of election interference
@KenMathis@thomaswright08 The problem is it won't stay hotter than 133 degrees. It will precipitate back which limits how far it will disperse.
The waste u-238 gets removed. They don't keep it in the centrifuge or conveniently store it next to the enriched uranium.
@KenMathis@thomaswright08 It's actually a solid unless heated above 133 degrees f. And there's no u-238 to mix it with. We'd have to bring our own with us to downblend it. If you blow up 60% u-235 the remains are still 60% u-235.
@KenMathis@thomaswright08 The hard part is separating different isotopes of uranium from each other. Not chemically separating uranium from other materials. Uranium ore has a very low concentration of actual uranium.
The recovered uranium would be back at 60% purity or close.
@Rongwrong_@BretDevereaux@James_Kabala But the president tweeting about "powerplant day" is a pretty good indication that the attacks are about denying sustenance to a civilian population and not the specific military uses of electricity. Same thing with bridges.
@unknown1nwonkun@ArmsControlWonk Smart people aren't worried about Iran starting a nuclear war out of the blue for fun. The fear is they could target Israel or a US base if desperate (say if we tried to assist an internal rebellion) or could be more brazen with conventional and proxy warfare.
@flxia_ @GraphJJA @FangYi11101 ... and then there is the distribution of n dice realized k times. As k increases your histogram approaches the probability distribution of n dice so you still see convergence happening even though it's converting to a triangular distribution not a normal one.
@flxia_ @GraphJJA @FangYi11101 No it doesn't. CLT says that if you take the sum or average of n dice then as that n gets large, the distribution approaches normal.
You might be confused because there are two limiting processes here. There's the distribution of n dice...
@wayne77miller@WillKingston If a known murderer is also accused of rape, few people doubt that story.
This is just atrocity denial. People trying to blame Palestinians collectively is wrong but that would still be a problem if it were "just" murder committed on 10/7.
