Why did we set up #londoncycles?
To celebrate and promote the thousands of cycle journeys already happening across London everyday ๐ฒ
Cycling needs to be made safe and accessible for all Londoners, no matter their ethnicity, gender, disability, income level or age...
"Those low traffic neighbourhoods are all well and good in the summer, but no one will be cycling when it's 0 degrees in January"
January in London ๐ฌ๐ง -
@BBCPanorama@BBCOne@BBCiPlayer ... A Telegraph journalist is given a huge amount of air time (when the paper is known to be extremely anti-cyclist), with about 95% of the prog on problems with e-motocycles and barely anything on the benefits found by those riding road legal e-bikes.
@BBCPanorama@BBCOne@BBCiPlayer Really poor quality programme, we should all expect more from the BBC. E-bikes and E-motorcycles (not limited to 15mph and/or no need to peddle + illegal) are conflated throughout, issues primarily caused by e-motorcycles are made out to impact all e-bikes....
Iโm staying in Shoreditch and the number of people using the Cycleways is extraordinary. If you build safe cycling infrastructure, cyclists will use it. Top work from @TfL. Bristol and WECA: please take note! (Letโs hope for strong support for active travel in tomorrowโs Budget.)
@London_Cycling@TfL Bays can work, but only if they're frequent enough. It shouldn't be harder to get to a lime bike parking spot than it is to get to a car parking space.
@London_Cycling Lime is huge because @TfL has completely failed to expand its bike hire schemes across the city. They're so popular because they fill a huge transport need, especially in parts of the city where tube or train stops are far apart.
@London_Cycles I had such a lovely time posing as a local bike commuter when in town earlier this month. I always wanted to be in bumper to bumper bike traffic, it's awesome actually.
